While I'm not really into glorified gore, the artistic style and unique gameplay have me interested.

Agreed, LostWinds is awesome and my only gripe is its short length. Understandable for a new IP WiiWare title that Frontier wasn't sure would be worth a long drawn-out development cycle. Now that the IP is established and successful, I can't see why they wouldn't make a sequel.

Takeshita is my new hero. I agree with everything he says about gaming nowadays and creativity in videogames. Mega Man 9 appeals to me as someone who is a huge fan of the original series and who has played them a lot as a child; I just hope the new generation of gamers don't write this off because of its graphics or sound. I think it would be a terrible loss to them.

I initially wasn't too excited about the M+ but this tech demo has changed my mind. The potential for this thing to create game experiences that we've never seen or fathomed before is huge.

I can just imagine someone creating a fighting game or martial arts instructional application that has you strap Wii remotes to each of your limbs and takes accurate punch/kick input.

I can't wait to see what devs and the homebrew scene can do with this technology.

The "old" gameplay style is just not optimal for all kinds of games, which is where the Wii's innovation lies. If you play Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and Metroid Prime 3, you will feel how much more intuitive and easy it is to aim accurately and shoot w/ the Wii remote. I play COD4 on my PS3 a lot but I dream of how much better the experience would be if I could use one of my Wii remotes as the controller. This is why I'm looking forward to The Conduit.

For less than $20, a bottle of goldschlager will allow you to claim that last part =)

Indeed, it has sold a lot compared to the two other toys.

I log more playtime on my Wii than my PS3. If being a hardcore gamer means that shiny textures and high poly counts inhibit my ability to recognize when a game has the same gameplay as its predecessor and my masculinity prevents me from enjoying games w/ amazing gameplay but cutesy graphics, then I guess I'm not a hardcore gamer like the author of this piece proclaims to be.

Looks like Fire Emblem might be the next RPG I play on my DS after FFIV (if it comes to the US soon).

Awesome, can't wait for this game. Wish I could understand what they were saying in the video tho lol

Hey, I like that game! How about this one: "The PS3's attach rate is abysmal because I don't count MGS4, since it's more of a movie than a game in my opinion."

FYI - Wii Sports is not a pack-in game in every region.

You act like everyone shares the same view as you regarding games. This is obviously not the case.

If "we" are indeed trying to progress gaming into more story-based titles, then why are Gran Turismo, Rock Band, and FPSs so popular? Why are Super Stardust HD, Mario Kart, and Burnout so popular if "we" are really shooting for life-like experiences?

You can glorify gaming however you want but at its core, games are about having fun. All the conso...

I doubt it unfortunately, even tho it would likely be a great game.

That's quite the A-list of titles you mentioned there. I too would've sold my Wii if those were the only games in the Wii's software library that I focused on.

He said Zelda *TP* was originally a Gamecube game. The Zelda franchise goes back much further than OoT.

Ya, I'll give him MoH2 as well. Part of the reason why I think the RE games have sold well is because the RE franchise is popular enough outside of the gaming industry to warrant having a number of films based on it, aside from the fact that it is a great franchise among avid gamers.

I mentioned Boom Blox and Zack & Wiki because I personally would not consider those to be "gamer's" games in the way that I perceived his definition of the term to be. While both are ...

This game is definitely awesome, as is the original. A lot of ppl aren't a huge fan of the voice-acting but I haven't found it to be that bad so far. The 3D is used very well during cutscenes to provide camera angles and viewpoints that accentuate the characters and any of their actions, which is something the original never had the luxury of doing.

Another awesome RPG for the DS.

The Resident Evil Wii games have sold very well. What "gamer's" games on the Wii is he talking about specifically that didn't suck and therefore were expected to sell well to "gamers" but didn't? Surely he isn't thinking of Boom Blox or Zack & Wiki. I'll give him No More Heroes, but what else?

Chronicles of Riddick.

Of course anyone can line up a crosshair accurately and shoot using an analog stick, but most cannot do it as fast as it would take for them to do so using a pointer such as that found in the Wii remote. Imagine how terrible of a game Duck Hunt would be using analog sticks instead of a lightgun. Similar principle.
