Anything in particular? I'm truly curious, because although I am loving the game, I haven't seen anything that screams impossible on last gen. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful game, but I just replayed gow2018 before ragnarok, and they are very similar graphically.

Things like invisible walls everywhere, lack of interactivity, instantly disappearing bodies, weird animation hitches, "hidden" loading sequences all scream last gen. I know I will...

Wow had no interest really in this one, but after hearing this guys review I am really considering giving it a go. It sounds like his minor gripes could be easily overlooked as well. Definitely going to give it a try!

Game is absolutely stunning. Hard to believe it is one of the best looking games ever coming from such a small studio. I just wish the gameplay was a bit more refined. The environments really lack interaction and things like invisible walls really kill the feel of the world. Overall, incredible story and visuals, only held back by gameplay.

Wow don't think I've ever seen a game get such divided reviews. I've seen 1s along with 10s and literally everything in between. Guess it's really a taste/preference type thing?

Agreed. I think odyssey had a nearly perfect loot system. In fact I feel like valhalla was a step back from odyssey in nearly every way. If they can nail the japan setting, and bring back the best parts of odyssey (loot, exploration, setting) while eliminating the grind and overly large map, this could be a winner.

Actually just started replaying shadow of war a few weeks ago. I forgot how great this series is. The game holds up very well graphically, sound, and gameplay wise. They really need to make a new sequel. So frustrating to see turd after turd sequels being made, but this IP patented and just collecting dust

How far did you get in Odyssey? I'm just curious because I thought it had some of the most diverse set of biomes I had seen in a game. It had autumn forests, snowy mountains, tropical islands, deserts, swamps, rocky cliffs, salt flats, clay mines, caves, flowering spring forests, etc. When you mix in some of the more out there mythological locations, I thought the exploration was great.
.I think the problem with odyssey was more the size and the grind. You had do dozens of si...

I feel like there are ways to satisfy both crowds. Personally I love long large games that reward exploration. I like shorter, focused game crammed with detail, but I can also get behind huge, open world games that reward exploration.

I think it boils down to a few things, first; keeping meaningful missions and avoiding time killing filler. Second if the world is going to be large, keep it detailed and interesting. Lastly, make the main story shorter and not require gri...

Yeah, sadly I was desperate to play something new, and decided to buy this game as a fan of the originals. It has some potential, but after around 8 hours I decided to shelf it and see if they can improve things.

The graphics are well below current gen standards, physics are wonky as hell, and the general feel is just not good. I expected the story and characters to be terrible and I wasn't surprised, but I feel like if they could fix some of the visual and mechanic...

Game looks stunning and smooth for sure. I know i will get down voted for saying anything negative, but the lack of any kind of physics does kind of stand out here. Every single enemy does the exact same animation for hits which is even more apparent when you do an area attack and 3 creatures fly in the air and flip over in a synchronized manner. Some sort of ragdoll or procedural animation would make this look so much better visually (especially after the incredible physics of TLOU part 1...

Yeah I think you just a traversal button and Kratos will jump mantle or whatever for you. Looks to be the same here. Typically I don't like games without jump buttons, but I feel like with GOW it would mess up the combat.

I have no problem with the price, it just means I won't be buying it. I feel like those of with two digital copies of the game already could have been given at least a 20-30 dollar discount, but that is their choice. As much as I love the game (favorite all timer), I just can't bring myself to pay 70 for essentially the same experience a 10th time just prettier and with better sound.

Yeah I am really holding out hope that is where they go next. Although part ii had some great parts, it just didn't click with Abby. Following Joel and Tommy struggling to survive the outbreak would be a damned masterpiece.

It does look good. A definite step up over the the ps3 version. I just feel like they are pushing a little too hard to justify the $70 price point by pointing out how everything was "completely rebuilt from the ground up". They even claimed the art style was completely redesigned lol.

Let's be honest, this is a decently pretty update to an update to one of the best games ever that already looked quite impressive. It is the same audio with 3d improvements. ...

Loved their games up until shadow warrior 3. Really feel like they took a wrong turn there. I hope this is more SW2 than 3. It definitely looks stunning and moves incredibly smooth as well. If they can put in a decent story with impactful combat that stays fresh this could br a huge sleeper!

I really hope the devs focus on actually improving this game. I see potential in it, but as of now I can't get into it. Things like bugs, horrible physics, and poor graphics and performance are really holding it back. Even the little things like the lack of analog brake control in vehicles just makes it feel so dated.

I will give it another go in a few months if they manage to update it, but the weird tone and feel of the narrative will be hard to overcome. I see ...

Agreed, as my favorite game of all time, I'm excited for a new generation of gamers to experience it. As someone who has already spent 120 dollars on it and beaten it half a dozen times, I will not be buying this since I am not even getting a discount. I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point second hand though

Honestly it looks great, but for a two gen difference I should be able to clearly tell which is the remake. A couple screens took quite a bit of scrutiny to differentiate. I don't know if it is filters or noise or what, but the remake looks blurrier and hazier.

That being said, visuals don't do much for me. What I'm really excited about is the fluidity of combat and physics. These are areas we need to focus on now that we are seeing diminishing returns wi...
