Totally agree. Not a fan of this pudgy one at all. I honestly think they perfected her in Rise and then slightly downgraded her somehow in shadow, but overall that model IS Lara in my mind now and I have played all the games.

I dont know, in that second screen she kinda looks like Amy Schumer cosplaying Lara Croft. Im actually replaying RotTR right now and I think she looks damm near perfect in that game.

Yes NMS was really good at the exploration side of things, but most of the time I was playing it was clear it was all procedurally generated. After seeing all the planet types you knew exactly what to expect before you even landed. As much as I enjoyed NMS most of the time I was playing I was just wishing it felt a bit more handcrafted and looked and felt less like a last generation tech demo.

I still think NMS will be superior in the massive scope and seemless exploratio...

Thats close to 2 million copies a year, so not bad for essentially yearly roster updates though. Game hasn't had a new engine or major overhaul since ps3 era. This used to be a yearly purchase for me, but they seem completely content with their minor yearly tweaks and their 100 mil revenue so will likely never truly innovate unless a competitor forces their hand.

Yeah, THATS why you have Astarion walking around naked ;)

For sure! It almost seems too much to be honest. If they can make it all fun, sure but every second it was something new. Fishing, arm wrestling, fighting, pole vaulting, wagon jacking, magic, destructible environments, hand to hand, hot air ballons, ranged, shepharding, cat petting, rat wrangling, musical instruments. flying etc. Like are they trolling us or is this easily the biggest game of all time?

Have you played a bethesda game? It is basically elder scrolls in space. You create a character, explore massive locations, complete objectives, fight enemies, find companions and gear, level up abilities, join organizations, and complete sidequests along with the main storyline. If you want to know the full actual storyline, I dont think they are ready to spoil everything yet. This is pretty standard marketing from Bethesda games. They do one or two demo/walkthroughs with the press and ...

Yeah definitely seems a bit too good to be true. Like they have every mechanic from every major.game from the last 10+ years. Just not sure if they can make it all fun to play and marry it with a good story and acting. If so it would be possibly the most ambitious game of all time.

Wow interesting game! Fair downgrade from the initial look a few years back but still looks great and quite a ways a long systems wise. Still seems a bit vapor-warey to me with the amount of systems in place. Its like they combined GTA, witcher, Assassins Creed, God of War, zelda, and Red Dead all in one. Could be mind blowing, could be good at nothing with a lacking story, or may never release. Time will tell, but consider me interested! Plus....pole vaulting???

Ok guess I could be wrong, but he specifically mentioned one of the things that sets it apart from souls games is that those games offer many different bladed and blunt weapons whereas this one focuses on the staff.

It seems odd if they offer many weapons that every single bit of coverage of the game focuses solely on the staff. I could see potential ranged options maybe but I would be surprised after seeing this much staff that we would find out there is actually a decent...

Looks really good, but not sure I can get over the fact you can only use a staff. The moves look great and all, but lets be honest, staffs are typically the least used weapon in games that offer them. Not sure i can go from games with dozens of swords, axes, and maces to just using a hunk of wood the entire time.

Yeah this is the kind of game im not normally into so i will pass without a demo. I have to say it lools impressive and a demo could easily sway me, but i just dont have the time and money to sink into something Im not surre I would enjoy.

Oh man Rockstar is going to shut this one down quick! They were just planning to charge $60 to millions of folks for one of their coders spending 5 minutes unlocking the frame rate on next gen consoles. Sad to say but Rockstar has gone from the best developer in the world to a greedy, soulless megacorp in no time flat. I would put them behind Ubi, EA, and CDPR at this point. At least those groups try to adjust, make amends, and do nice things for their fans.

Agree with most of these but I would swap Skyrim with Oblivion. The ambient tracks from Jeremy Soule in that game are the best I have ever heard. Made exploring an absolutely joy. I still put them on loop if I had a stressful day. Just amazing stuff!

Beat it by a mile by being first or bigger? There are clearly a few things that NMS does better (interactive orbits and atmosphere entry and infinite size), but honestly the whole time I was playing NMS I was wishing the game was smaller but more detailed, with current gen visuals and physics, and a less procedural feel. This is exactly how I envision Starfield.

I would take 1000 planets and 5000 creatures that are unique and beautiful versus an infinite number of rando...

I think a lot of it boils down to how consistent it is and how well it is implemented. Additionally, what kind if TV you have also plays a large role in how each mode looks and plays. I typically prefer performance over resolution but for forbidden west, resolution mode looked so good and was so smooth I didn't even notice the drop in frames. I've heard others say it looked choppy for them, but on my TV it was great. Just do what works for you and be happy.

Totally agree. This one is so far over my expectations it makes up for DL2 being so far below expectations. Let's hope dying light 3 takes some cues from this! Imagine this level of combat and fun factor with the open world and parkour of Dying Light...

Game is an absolute blast. As a big fan of the first and zombie games in general, they nailed nearly every aspect of it. Can't recommend it enough if you liked the first ones.

Haven't had a chance to see the video yet, but I hope they touched on the physics. Overall I am insanely impressed how this turned out. The visuals are pretty phenomenal as well, but the physics are possibly the best I have seen in a game next to red faction guerilla back in the day.

The first time I saw a zombie chasing me and run through a pool of acid and saw first their clothes, then skin, then muscle dissolve only to have them stumble and fall at my feet as a blo...

Game looks absolutely stunning. Definitely on my radar and i like that they are also introducing new ideas, combat items, and traversal options. I'm curious if they toned down the wokeness at all in this one though. As much as I loved ZD and FW, it does start to become a little annoying after a while.
