because they were sure smoking it when they wrote this review. COD4, IMO, has been amazing, in both campaign and multiplayer. Although, I can kind of see their point with the multiplayer experience points. That could possibly use a little tweeking. Other than that, I think it's another truly great Infinity Ward title. It should have gotten at least a 9 in my book.
I want it to be great, but the extremely mixed reviews strike me as very odd. Thanks for the info gw4k, it's nice to hear someone's feedback. I may just take the plunge and go ahead and get it. 8)

Pretty bold and one-sided. Did you happen to notice that the PS3 is dead last with EA sales? What makes you think Halo 3 and Mass Effect will spontaneously be ported to the PS3? I think you're way overreaching with your statements considering the software sales track record for the PS3 so far. Sony is just not providing enough of a reason at this point. I'm not saying that won't change in the future, but as of right now, I think it's a pretty classic pipe dream.
It's just a matter of when. The price of the 360 will come down again, the only question is whether or not they'll do it before the holidays. I think it would be a smart move on their part to do so. I'm sure it would keep encouraging hardware/software sales.
The depth of this game keeps astounding me. Release date is getting so close...can't wait!
I've been waiting for this game for a long time. I've had mine pre-ordered since last December. There will be much time spent playing this game. 8)

I want this game to be as great as it is being hailed to be, too. SK have certainly had their fair share of troubles throughout development, but hopefully everything will work out for the better. BTW, you're right, that screen is out of this world. The lighting is incredible. I'm definitely looking forward to more info about this game.
Between getting this and finishing up Shivering Isles, it should whet my appetite nicely for Mass Effect. 8)
I'm so ready for it to be released. I think it's going to be one of the best gaming experiences to date, and a definite GOTY contender, IMO.
I believe this game will be a strong contender for GOTY as well. I'm very excited about it. It keeps looking better and better IMO.
that's good news. I was beginning to wonder when we would start seeing the Falcon hardware. I can only imagine that newly manufactured models from here on out will have the new chipset, too. They've also replaced the original disc drives with a much quieter one, which is a welcome improvement.

the real impact Halo 3 will have on sales for several months. Probably not until next year. Regardless, it's going to sell a ton of copies, and it will certainly drive hardware sales. But that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
the only question is sustainability. I don't doubt the 360 will experience a huge surge and probably move back into first place in sales. But, this was really THE moment that MS and the majority of 360 owners have been waiting for, myself included. There are still some really outstanding games coming out, but nothing that can generate the kind of hoopla that Halo 3 has. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
It's riding a very fine line between being extremely unique and ripping off every great sci-fi horror film ever made. It's described as Alien meets Event Horizon. It certainly has the potential to be great. I'm definitely curious to see how this game continues to develop.
I decided to pick up my copy today because of the positive comments that you and others have posted. It seems that most people have really enjoyed the game so far. I can't wait to get started on it.
