@darthv72. I agree, this is a good move. Let's consider the games people purchased at launch for the Xbox One or PS4. One of my main purchases was battlefield 4, this was multiplatform, but was my favourite launch game.

I see it more as a preorder/ launch window offer. Get PS plus and get these games at launch. The question is whether they remain available after a set time frame or are they only allow for the first few months of the ps5 launch.

Sold out within 1 hour for each store when they opened up preorders in Australia.

It's always the same. The hype for PS2 backwards compatibility was huge, yet when it turned out to be false this was no longer important. For me I just play games. I have already ordered my ps5 ( perk of living in a coutry ahead in time) and will order an X next week.

Preordered and paid within 30 seconds of them opening up ( Australia is live) . Now just have to wait for launch.

Yes. Just let me preorder the console.

No, they need to release finished games. I would rather a delay than an unpatched, unfinished game.

It is very puzzling. I always buy every console at launch, always have. After this showcase though I will probably give it a miss and just get a ps5. I really don't see any benefit to series X over my X. Maybe I will eventually get a digital only series X for game pass and buy all physical games on the ps5.

There are some excellent games showcased and when series X "officially" launches in two years it has potential. Until then I was more than disappointed by the to lack of actual launch window games. This shows me they still need more AAA studios.

I still don't buy it. The CPU is 10% faster 3.8vs 3.5.. Memory is 560gb/s vs 448gb/s and the GPU is fixed at 12tf vs the ps5 variable GPU with a maximum speed of 10.2tf. For me I don't think the SSD is enough to bridge the gap. On a PC an SSD didn't bridge a gap for gaming vs traditional HDD. It will be interesting to see the comparison from digital foundry though. If it does bridge the gap I would be very surprised but more than happy to admit I am wrong if that happens. After th...

Grounded, wasteland 3, tell me why and ms flight simulator all release by the end of next month, classing them as launch games would be weird. No idea about battletoads. Physchonauts is delayed to 2021 and Everwild is at least a year away by the look of it. MS don't seem to have any launch games or games releasing in the first 6 months other than Halo. It's very weird and seems more of the same unfortunately.

Other than Halo I didn't see any sign that any of these first party games would release at launch or in 2021. They all seemed 2-3 years away.

This late in development should be about finding and fixing bugs. Imagine how many bugs will exist if they are still overhauling the game.

That's just poor marketing if true. Why release a crap version of their star game. It should have been a priority or as you say labelled as such. Now I have concerns it will be released unfinished and flop as a result.

I seriously don't think the SSD will bridge the CPU, GPU and memory advantage of series X.
At best the SSD will compensate for the memory speed gap and also load games faster. But it doesn't need to because so far Xbox hasn't shown any game footage that can rival horizon, spiderman, uncharted or TLOU. At this stage Sony could release a PS4 pro plus and outperform their offerings. That's disappointing.

Problem is they have been pretty devoid of games on Xbox, 1st party wise. They are now releasing games but nothing amazing yet. It was their chance to overcome past mistakes and show the games coming out. In the first year of series x. The lack of gameplay implies another 1st party game drought is incoming. So two years before we get a stack of new 1st party games. If we had gameplay and release windows it would look different, but it doesn't.

There were numerous issues with the showcase. Firstly the timed launch exclusives are never that exciting. Next it was devoid of information and it was devoid of gameplay. What games are launching from November to June next year, which are launch titles. It seems like there will be yet again a first party game drought, why else didn't they show actual game play. I saw the state of decay trailer, saw the crossbow and thought yes. My impression was this could be in game graphics from an act...

Some parts look amazing, other parts were terrible. The game play showcase for infinite was boring for me. My favourite bit was state of decay 3, just hope they add a decent story campaign this time. Overall though it was very disappointing.

You forget that all ms exclusives are coming to PC. So it makes sense to treat the standard Xbox One as the minimum PC specs and keep releasing them for a few years. It doesn't mean serious X won't be taken advantage of. They will still be targeting the higher end gpu's on PC and can port as many assets over to series X as possible. You can't say Xbox is not being supported and it is all just interviews. Sure you could argue this previously, but to make up for it Xbox is now ...

I just want to see loading comparisons between ps5 and series X. I will buy both at launch but this will be interesting to see.
