There is no more generations. They are full fledged in the PC route. Their games will state in the future what minimum Xbox is required to play this game. Like system requirements on pc games. That's why now all the multi's supposedly will be leaps better on Scorpio vs the ps family of consoles.
What lies though currently? I'll agree their track record has been spotty. But what are they currently lying about
@Azuske, don't be a fanboy. We all can like what we like. U said the Scorpio has no exclusives. What MS is selling is it's the powerful console that will be available and that it will be the place to be to play multi's. They are selling that all games released whether exclusive or multiplatform will be the best looking console games and the third party releases will look exponentially better on Scorpio than any other version.
From what they say Scorpio is for Xbox exclusives and all multi's. They are making the multi's seem like exclusives in comparison to what they will look like on the PS family of consoles. Really by everyone's logic then wouldn't the PS4 only for their exclusives. The difference in the Scorpio version of the bro games like madden/COD they say will be on another level in comparison.
I've heard allot of hyperbole about Scorpio and its comparisons to ultra level pc's. With ms no longer releasing consoles by generation but every 3,4 years is Xbox basically one day goin to be a top of the line gaming rig for a small window?
Not mention if and big IF, the multi's are really going to be that much better on Scorpio they are getting the definitive version. Might as well call them exclusives.
What some have alluded to already is absolutely true. From here on the games shown are going to be shown on the pro and Scorpio. MS isn't going to show Scorpio games and then Sony is going to show games playing on the og PS4. It's like car companies at auto shows they don't show their cars in the base models on the turnstile.
The more realistic games look the more realistic they won't look. When I played NBA/NFL games in the early 90s I just had fun and the graphics were the best they could. Now as more and more games get closer to photo quality the more we nitpick about the games. Oh he doesn't run like that, his eyes look empty, etc. We are still a few generations away from this articles implication.
Ivan, we know now devs are going to send copies now to reviewers in the future showing their best Pro/Scorpio. Or at the least with those mind.
Pappy, dude I couldn't care less about salez. It doesn't make my purchases any better or my entertainment any greater because they sold more than someone else.
We all need to prepare ourselves for essentially new consoles every 2 years. Call mid-gen or next gen. It doesn't matter. If we want to play our games at their highest fidelity that means forking out 3-400 bucks every few years now. Because if u don't u will be getting the watered down version.
Sony has always won the salez battle. They aren't on the same timelines anymore with mid gen upgrades. The war is over. If u want to say Sony won because their games interested u or if u were Xbox fan and u wanna say the same then great for u. We all need to be prepared to spend 3-400 bucks every 2/3 years to play the multi's at their best.
I believe it's the opposite. I believe the vast majority of gamers only care about the multi's. I've said this in many threads on here. The COD/Madden/Destiny players of the world make up a larger number of gamers than those of us on N4G. Come July if we have visual proof that the Scorpio plays those that much better and at 60fps at all times it'll become the must have.
I see a future where it's possible they will catch up for a short period of time. But due to the length of cycles, even mid term upgrades considering, they would only be on par for a short period of time.
I need to see madden/COD, joe casual games. What do they look like vs the competition this is my question. DF made it sound like it'll be an unfair fight between Scorpio and the competition. If this is true I'll be a day 1 buyer. Because you'll get the better multi's and whatever exclusives they release this year and next.
Devils advocate, if Scorpio is the primo place for multi's and the exclusives they release. Wouldn't the PS4 need the exclusives since that would be all they have? I mean if everyone is playing COD/BF etc on Scorpio, the only reason to have the PS4 would be for the exclusives.
The ultimate question here is the multiplatform devs going to be forced with parity over PS4 and Xbox. Because MS words are there is no boost mode. The boost is the Scorpio. So I take that as all the top multi's should look significantly better on the Scorpio vs the patched pro. Because if it's not it's not worth it even at $399
@oogly, might be all games multiplatform and whatever exclusives get released. It should be the primo choice by leaps and bounds for all multi's
Exclusives is important but not as important I think n4g members believe. What's important to joe casual is graphics and COD/Madden/BF etc. DF made it seem like the multi's are going to potentially be on another level from the competition based on it's abilities. Will the developers be forced to some type of parity?
How many exclusives does the PS4 get a year? Not being argumentative, those of us who aren't blinded by fanboy nonsense have had a great beginning to 2017 for our PS4. But my PS4 starting in 2018 will be specifically for those handful of AAA exclusives. The Scorpio is going to be the place to game on all the other AAA releases.
