It will come to gamepass in the US, it was the UK that wanted to stop it until 2025.
I'm a firm believer if the deal doesn't make it, MS will burn Sony. They will just use that 69 billion with every single third party developer they can find and essentially backroom deal so many deals gimping anything to Sony. MS will turn so deadly on Sony. IMO it's bad long term for the Industry because of what will happen if Sony gets this blocked.
They won't make them exclusives at first. They'll flex it like their games are free on gamepass. Parents will think Xbox games are free and Sony games are 70 a piece. It's slow burn that will be felt over years.
It's the industry standard. Not to mention there isn't anything forcing them to develop for it. Apple created the app store and made "apps" what they are today. It's their store. If they want to charge 90% then so be it. It's their store and there is other platforms to develop for.
First party or not, gamepass including ea access is an incredible value. I'm no Xbox Superfan, but it's borderline ignorance to not see the value.
Time absolutely. Sony is leading, but so was Blockbuster. If MS succeeds and it's gamepass becomes the Netflix of gaming, it could be to late for them to counter.
Prepare for more articles like this until sony comes up with some type of gamepass equivalent. Only time will tell if Sony or MS vision is the way forward.
I pity those who care if the game is exclusive or not. Nerdiest thing in gaming is caring about exclusivity.
@metal, i feel that way hearing about exclusives. I play games. Dont give a funk about what system. Exclusive talk is the most nerdy thing in our industry to me.
The more realistic they look the more fake they will be. Look at let’s say madden. The more real it got the more nuances we noticed weren’t real. Or a close up of a cgi face, you notice how unrealistic the eyes are.
People expect things to work and meet expectations immediately in today's world. There is no waiting for the technology. VR doesn't meet hardly anyones expectations. When people think VR, I know from the people in my circle who aren't gamers atleast, thought VR would be like the movies version of VR. It would make something like the ocean look like the ocean not a videogame ocean. VR just looks like bad videogames. It doesn't look real. Even something well done like resident ev...
Why do you people care what company A sold vs company B? I love this hobby, been gaming over 30 years. And arguing about salez is the nerdiest discussion this hobby has left. Gaming has gone mainstream and salez talk is the last talk the nerds gave left.
@badz, i own both the pro and the X. And I agree with starchild.
I leave for weeks, sometimes months on end. All because N4G is just fanboys arguing over salez. Its so lame reading posts where one is happy about how many something sold over another. As gaming became mainstream people just needed to sound geeky still. And grabbed ahold of these salez arguments. Its a hobby. Its an entertainment device. Its not that serious. Enjoy what you enjoy and be happy for others, if they enjoy something different than yourself, then tell them about how much fun you ar...
Been in 18 years now, i cant say strongly enough how wrong this statement is.
Oh i agree except EA like most companies their size, its all about the numbers on a spreadsheet. They need to make the numbers move in certain directions. Gamers are just numbers to them not individuals. The games they make arent stories to be told but products. The teams making the games care about what they are making im sure but they are being told what to make.
EA is a creature of its environment now. Being a publicly traded company forces them to consistently find new new money sources. If EA made X amount last year it needs to make more this year. It has to always show growth or show investors that they are trying to make more through these additional sources. As a publicly traded company they will never have enough money. Because the following year it could all go away. Im not saying what they are soing is right just that as a business the size o...
@ thesaint. Thats the thing about PC gaming vs consoles. They arent the same market. Your avg gamer isnt in the market for a PC rig. He only wants a console. Plus i have no real data to backup my thought here, but if Sony and MS both released two consoles on the same day at the same price, whichever console had the most power would sell more initially. Even if the lesser power one had more games.
I believe new console games are to expensive! In this day and age of files on a disc and digital downloading to your console or computer. The games should be cheaper. The overhead is lower. You buy star wars at 60, 2 people buy it giving EA 120. In order for EA to make 121, what can they sell the games for and how many new customers would buy it? I would think EA could sell the games brand new opening week at half the cost and get twice the sales making them equal money right? Except now they...
They are dominating now but all it takes is one bad generation and it could all disappear.
