Additional Confirmations:
A video for Monday showing the level, a new launcher and other stuff.
Trophies are coming with this new level.
The level after this one includes online multiplayer.
There are new characters coming.
The price point is around 6.99, whether that's $$, ££ or €€ I don't know.
I don't know if you need to be connected to the network in order to get trophies, but if you do then perhaps it's a connection problem.
On the other hand, if you are connected (which I'm guessing you must be since you have the updates) then it actually could be some sort of bug that you should bring up with Sony. Let's hope they don't ask you to send in your PS3 for inspection.
If this "My Gamer Pad" thing turns out to be true then the 360 will have something close at least. Which is better will be a matter of opinion.
That's true, Summer doesn't finish until September starts.
First, the two obvious things to double check first: (I'm not being patronising, it's just for completeness)
1) Do you have 2.4
2) So you have SSD-HD 4.00
Finally, you could try deleting your SSD save data (or at least moving it to a different profile so you can get it back later if you want) and try it again.
HD? Did I read that right?
Why? I understand that delays happen for a reason, but when they are out elsewhere I cannot for the life of me think of what that reason could be.
Sigh, I want my Echochrome puzzling goodness.
60GB Euro here. (UK to be exact).
Since they've pulled it, you don't get the choice anyway.
I can't help but wonder if 2.4 was released sooner than Sony would have liked due to mounting pressure. I also find it strange how what is essentially same hardware can go wrong on a select few occasions.
I sympathise; that must be a nightmare to test and reproduce.
Poorly written article.
"No hardware manufacturer has ever won two console wars. The Playstation 1 and 2 dominated the last two wars"
Contradict yourself much?
"Although [the 360] is a remarkable piece of hardware it doesn’t have the install base to win the war and so it is pretty much a two horse race between Sony and Nintendo."
Last I checked the 360's install base was well above the PS3's. (Ignoring current sale trends)
You nailed it man. It's been driving me nuts that I haven't got it yet.
I know some people buy their multi-platform games on the 360 solely because of achievement points, but due to the reliability issues with the 360, they would prefer to buy multi-platform games on the PS3.
So maybe those people will now be buying more PS3 titles, but to balance that out, the 360's are (I think) becoming more reliable.
I'm definitely thrilled that Trophies are almost here, and I may even buy more games because of it. (Yeah, I'm gonna be a trophy whore)...
That, dear sir, was brilliant.
A custom sound is the way to do it! Every time you get a trophy it could play a short extract of the Final Fantasy victory tune.
I know, but at least that would explain all of the "proof" we have for both games.
Nobody has floated the pant-wetting possibility of BOTH Diablo 3 and a Starcraft MMO being announced. There just seems to be untold amounts of proof for both of these games being announced.
The internet am cry if it's something else entirely.
So what's the new limit?
6 on my PS3 at the moment... all pointed at the EU store.
A much more interesting statistic would be how many unique PS3's have been connected to the network. Would be cool if we could find out how many had been connected to the network within the past month as well, or in the month after 2.4's release.
There's a snowballs chance in hell of Sony actually releasing those stats (assuming they even have them) but I'm just thinking out loud, I reckon they would be intere...
I hope it's true. The site says at the bottom:
"you can mark a date in your calendars for next Thursday: full versions of both Echochrome and Commando 3 are confirmed."
Matches Echochrome's PSP release date as well I think, or at least near enough.
Criterion gave Cagney to Microsoft and Sony at the same time. This has nothing to do with lead consoles or better consoles, this is down to Microsoft's certification process.
