I guess we should have seen this coming really, an infrared detector and two emittors create the setup for the Wii's version so it's fairly obvious that the PS3 can do it with the eye and similar emittors mounted to glasses.
Give the 360 an infrared camera and the right code and it could do it as well. Come to think of it, you could do it with a PC or even a PS2 if you wanted to, just needs custom hardware and software. All comes down to who takes the leap and makes a game like t...
Confirmed for PC already. It's been available for download via Steam since release I think, but it should be available in stores in the next few months.
As for the consoles, probably not.
Are we talking Portal deathmatches where the only form of attack is using portal momentum to hurl companion cubes at people?
I wouldn't say the comparison is incorrect, just incomplete.
It would be more interesting to see how well the battery powered controllers fare with expensive batteries as well as cheap batteries. I'd also like to see details about Dualshock 3 controllers and Wii controllers when the nun-chuk is added on.
Personally I don't care if the PS3's controller battery lifespan is short because USB charging is great, if you Fold@Home or put the game on pause for 10 minutes whi...
Portal is THE reason I own the Orange Box, no questions asked. The other 4 games were an added bonus. (Which I really should pay more attention to).
@mintaro. My thoughts are below.
Warning: Minor spoilers about Portal's ending coming up...

Considering we did burn all of her important parts you'd think that would be the end of the evil AI, on the other hand she did claim that even when we're dead she'll be...
Funny how some people are more than willing to download a movie or game for free (piracy) because they claim it's easier than going to a store and buying it or they don't want to scratch their disks.
But as soon as they are asked to pay for these downloads and legally fill up their hard drive they suddenly think "No way, I want my real disc!"
The only reason this annoys me is because it means some people out there don't get to enjoy the brilliance that is Burnout's online mode. If you've got Paradise but can't get it online you're missing more than half of the fun!
If these drivers are actually stupid enough to get confused between holding a controller and driving a real car then I'm glad they're off the road.
What annoyed me was actually purchasing a DVD box-set, only to find that the Anti-Piracy protection stops me from playing it on my PC. So what do I do? I download that same series so that I can actually watch what I paid for.
The same with several protected CD's. I should not have to buy a CD or DVD and then download the contents anyway just to enjoy it.
And what would you have done differently?
Or just set the same ones up again in new shapes, maybe spray some of them with green paint and arrange them to be like the X-Box logo. (Or red paint and make a RRoD).
As a side note, I believe Europe gets it this Friday, not on Monday the 28th, at least here in the UK it's the 25th. Only two days away. I can't wait.
That just made my morning. It may not be "news" in the strictest sense, but I'm really glad to see it on here.
Woah, lots of negativity in these comments. I thought the article was well written and actually makes a lot of fair points.
I'm a PS3 fan, I don't own nor desire a 360, however I agree totally with this guy when he gives the edge to the 360, but only because of one thing...
In my opinion, the ONLY significant difference between the two versions is the option for custom soundtracks. Seriously. If you like Acheivements then sure, that's a plus, but the soundtracks ...
The best Need For Speed games in my opinion were High Stakes and Most Wanted. (High Stakes was called Road Challenge in some areas).
I tried the Pro Street Demo and instantly knew I would not be picking this game up. It's a shame really because I loved Most Wanted. (Carbon didn't do anything for me either).
But yeah, can't wait for Burnout: Paradise!
Yup, that just about sums it up.
15% accross an entire year isn't that much of a drop. A simple £500 set would only drop by £75. Sure we all want to save £75 but that kind of drop over a period of 12 months isn't that much of a loss.
Even if you splashed out on a £2000 set ($4000), by this logic that same set will still be £1700 at the end of the year. ($3400). At £25 a month I don't think it's that big of a problem.
3 year gap between 95 and 98.
3 year gap between 98 and XP. (XP in 2001)
5/6 year gap between XP and Vista. (Only available separately in 2007)
Does anyone else think it's possible that we'll be seeing another 2.5\3 year gap between OS's?
Personally I can't wait for touch screens to become more common.
45% of the market is a mammoth achievement.
Oh hang on, it's only for the US. Ok, not as mammoth but still very impressive since NA is a very large part of the gaming industry.
Wait... you mean it doesn't include the PS2 or the handhelds? Ok, not as incredible as at first sounds, but not something to be ignored.
This is proof that you can tweak a statistic to say whatever you want. For example "PS3 sells more in 2 months since launch than 360 ...
As said before, Elite's are still plentiful in the UK, Wii's on the other hand are still impossible to find online at least.
