Add it to the list of things that are trickling out as this game gets closer to release. No menu, Origin only so no Steam, no squad management, no Karkand pack at launch. Just seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot here.
Prepare for the inevitable : due to battlelog being required on PC you can't play the game offline whatsoever including the campaign.

Indeed. This is the sole reason I'm not buying the Season pass right now. After the ridiculous selling of skins I am fully well expecting them to put blood drive in a paid for map pack. As a rule I refuse to pay extra for anything already on a disk i've bought.
Out of wonder how does this work? For £17 you can download the full game and play it now? Does it deactivate come launch or what?
Oh nooesss having to get off your arse and walk a few meters to swap a disk for 10 seconds after hours of gameplay. Someone call the waaambulance! It's not like you have to do it when you want to swap games or anything.
"big day 1 download" is bullshit mate. Skins are literally just a small texture, they could fit that in a patch with no issues. Infact I'm almost certain in the future they'll add more skin packs to buy and include them in patches so that everyone can see them.
Not to mention the map 'Blood Drive' is already locked away but on the disk too. We don't know what the plan is for that yet obviously as they could unlock it for free, but after this skin...
They're charging for pretty much every skin that's any good. There's 4 skins you can actually earn in the game (not including the couple for gears2/beta rewards). Then 22 on day 1 that will set you back 3600msp...
It's worth noting these skins have been complete for months, and are on the disk.

So it's only the singleplayer portion of Crysis 1? No buy for me. Already got 1 + Warhead on PC and played through them both on full whack settings. Not to mention you can grab both for next to nothing now.
It's not recurring though. If little timmy says he needs the money so he can get all the map packs then most parents wouldn't know the difference.
Bullshit hating aside - if you think about the amount of people who buy all of the CoD DLC packs for the year it's a ton. Tell these people you can get all the DLC's for a discount + other features then they'd be dumb not to pay it if they'll be buying the DLC anyway.

I wasn't comparing it to a home console game, only mobile gaming. I pay less than a £1 and play a mobile game for hours. Be it a little couple of minute long experience or a full blown RPG. Not to mention constant free updates.
Games like Chinatown Wars headed over from DS/PSP onto iOS and provided the same experience for a significantly smaller pricepoint.

Literally just been lied in bed on my iPhone playing Dead Space which is 69p this weekend on sale and what an awesome mobile experience when played with earphones etc. Visuals are fantastic and the sound is super immersive. This is exactly why I don't even bat an eyelid at the thought of buying a gaming handheld and then forking out games which would cost me 40x the price of what I'm paying on iOS.
Don't forget Space Marine! Although Dead Island is my only purchase this week, it'll be more than enough to keep me busy til Gears but I'm taking a gamble on the PC version in the hope it's not a shoddy port.
I actually thought BF3's launch trailer was dull for some reason, and the tagline is terrible. Hoping this isn't what gets shown on TV ads as I'd like to see it really put a dent in MW3 sales.
