@Raztad
Gow 3 has a fixed viewing angle, hence that is easy on the system.
However even in Gow3, the main character is the only thing that is using good looking textures, everything else looks blurry.
I think UC2 and K2 pushed the PS3 very well and had the PS3 more powerleft they would have surely bumped the ress upto 1080p which didnt happen.
Its not hard upressing a game if the system has more resources left over and i am sure sony...
Crysis 2 on console is a huge step back from Crysis 1 on PC.
And yea BC2 on PC looks better then both of those shots.
To those waiting on Killzone 3 or Uncharted 3, i dont expect the differences to be huge. K2 and Uncharted 2 already made very good use of the PS3 hardware. Let the games come out but i dont expect much more then this.
dam this is awesome.. cant wait for it. L4d2 is still my favorice coop shooter.
AC2 and Settlers both dropped of so quidkly on the steam chart. It just shows the games sold badly. Many ppl didnt buy AC2 because of DRM. I know i didnt, also the price was another turn off.
you cant get it to run like the ps3, cause the ps3 is really outdated. It would be a futile excercise trying to find a gaming gpu from ati or nvidia these days that would perform on the lvl of the ps3 anything you will get even at the 100usd price will out do the ps3 multiple times.
all the WII titles look superior emulated on the PC.
heat issues on the 8800gtx are as valid as the ylod on the ps3.
8800gtx is just an example from the past, today any 100usd gpu will do better then the 8800gtx, thats how obselete it is now.... now think how bad the gpus on the consoles are.
Funny part is you dont need a highly upgraded PC to beat the console versions.
You could have a dual core setup from the time when PS3 was released and even that will beat consoles.
One of my older rigs with the following setups is sure to out perform both the console versions. As it currently plays the 1st crysis in 1080p:
2.4 ghz dual core intel cpu
8800gtx
4gig ram
that setup owns consoles in pretty much every multip...
Push the devs to use such powerful cpus. I certainly dont see a point of upgrading anymore if all we are getting are games that barely require a core 2 duo.
Its the inevitable fate for any console based network.
Its why i love PC.
A dacade later both the games i love CS1.6 & Warcraft 3 still going strong. With no threat of anyone taking them down.
@franky
Steam says NO :P
To each is their own. Ill be getting the PC version at 33usd along with my buddies, if steam has a the usual 4 pack ;-)
Whats the point of debating on "SLIGHTLY better performance" when it will be barely noticible. You are better of buying it on your console of choice.
However if you would like to see a clear difference then PC is obviously the way to go, be it a 3yr old rig or a mid range PC of today.
just beat the first one with hi res textures was awesome. cant wait for the second one.
Its a good deal though it was on sale on steam for 7usd few months back, thats an insane deal.
That surely sounds more reasonable.
Yea but there hasnt been an rts to date which i am aware of that charges a monthly fee. This is just sad.
They are releasing this over 3 episodes @59usd each. Which is not bad, i expect each of them may sell 10million copies. Which is great as it is.
Charging monthly fees for a RTS is just wrong.
Looks like they want to test the waters.
They will initially sell as many copies as they can, later on when the sales dry up. They might as well start charging for Battle net. At which point they wont care if the game sells further or not, they will milk the people who want to carry on playing the game.
Think ill stick with SC1 and warcraft 3.
This is bad, first Activision charges 59usd for MW2 for PC. They even increased prices for the console version in europe which is just sad console users already pay a premium.
Now Blizzard wants monthly charges in russia. It just shows their current attitude is to milk the market.
yep i am still debating wether to get this. its 29usd on steam, probably will wait until they give a good discount on it.
Congrats on the purchase bubbles, thats an awesome GPU.
