There's an entire, separate co-op campaign. The single-player one just wouldn't work with some of the set-pieces etc.
I agree that I find myself dying and frequently asking "what just happened" - which I hate in any game. But I'm reserving final judgement until I've played more of the game. The game still has incredible atmosphere and really taught shooting so there's plenty to like. Other than that I can't get the online to work at all - hopefully there's a patch coming soon.

Dude, blogs aren't against the rules. Neither is submitting from your own site. In actual fact the News Rules encourage people to submit from their own sites.
That being said, Silogon's site is garbage - I'd fully support it being banned. But just complaining about it in the comments isn't really going to change anything. If you don't like what's making it through approval then get active in Pending and report the crap out of it.
