I'm generally not for regulation, but in our country where broadband coaxial networks literally have no competition it makes sense that this not be permitted. If it were it would be a very slippery slope. Anyway what they are trying to do is not legal so unless they get the law changed it's kind of a non-issue.
@9.1 - Obviously whether a speed difference is "noticeable" or not is subjective. I would venture that many users wouldn't notice a 500ms delay per page.
@9.2 - you are attempting to equate file size to how speed will be affected which makes no sense.

I'm playing through it on PS3 right now and it honestly seems like a PS2 game that was ported to PS3 and 360. It bums me out that it isn't taking advantage of current-gen hardware because I had a lot of fun with the original. It's not an terrible game by any stretch, but it is a disappointment.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who is A) sick of these, and B) thinks this game is weak.
I don't know that the cost of Xbox Live is really that much of a factor in people's decisions to buy one. In other words I don't think that eliminating the cost would help Microsoft move more hardware. It would however remove a large portion of their revenue (in that division) so I don't see that being very likely.

Yeah - the occasional lag is a bummer but v2 is still pretty new. Each of the 0.1 patches has made it a lot more stable and I expect they'll sort it all out by 2.1. Regardless the functionality it just incredible.
The real reasons to upgrade, if you ask me, are the 3G data (assuming you have 3G in your area) and the GPS. And if you have the first iPhone you get the subsidized price for the new one so I say go for it - you can actually get a pretty good price on you v1 especially if you unlock it first. I had 2 friends that sold theirs for just under $400 each on eBay without even unlocking them.

You must work for HTC or something if you're actually trying to say that HTCs hardware or interface in any way even holds a candle to the iPhone 3G. You also fail to mention that the HTC has a significantly smaller screen, only 4 gigs of memory and costs over $600 dollars - a pretty penny more than the iPhone. And have you seen the back of that thing? Hideous!

Aren't people entitled to their opinions? I DO own a 360 and Gears of War. I am also in the Confrontation beta. It's only really fair to compare Gears' multiplayer to Confrontation. Network issues aside the gameplay is more fun than Gears multiplayer hands down.
