Bravely Second and Persona 5 are huge.
XSEED may or may not show off much at E3; their upcoming JRPGs are all pretty ****ing huge.

I don't expect anything from Square-Enix but if we're very, very, very lucky they might announce a half-assed PS4/PC port of FFXII for 2018 or so.

Same here.

I am a bit disappointed at the lack of PC releases for Sen no Kiseki, though. Oh well.

Now to decide between PS3 or Vita.

<3 XSEED.

Honestly, I follow game media pretty regularly... I've seen two, maybe three people in the last decade that -maybe- could have been represented as SJWs in certain contexts.

The vast majority of what I see is just people like you whining about "SJWs" and some perceived attack on your hobby that's not actually a thing.

Maybe if you stop pretending there's some cartoonishly liberal extremist crusade against gaming, you'll enjoy games mo...

The games that win GOTY generally only speak volumes about the people who determine and care about GOTY.

DAI was the most marketed AAA game of the year, so of course people were calling it GOTY. That's how it always goes every year.

Keep in mind there are two expansions planned, one of which doesn't add any new areas to explore.

The most logical explanation for that high-level stuff being there is simply so that it will be there to provide some traversal challenge to players working their way through the new quests in the first expansion.

Don't count on CDPR raising the level cap or adding new abilities.

Funny: every time an RPG has enemies that do scale with players, most everyone agrees that THAT'S a huge mistake.

And I kinda think you're missing the point. The Primary Aspect of Engagement with The Witcher 3 (or any of the Witcher games) is not and never has been the combat... it's always been the quests and narrative reactivity.

If you're playing the game to difficult random enemies out in the middle of nowhere, you'd be just as happy w...

Like you can make a trailer for anything-DBZ without it being cheesy.

Remember all those gamers who bought PS4s, XB3s, WiiUs, PSVs, 3DSs, PS3s, XB2s, Wiis, etc., etc., the day they launched?

You know: gamers who care more about hardware than games, have lots of money but little sense, etc., etc.?

The same gamers who scoff at PC as a gaming platform because it's "too complicated" and so on?

They'll be buying Steam machines.

Whether or not that demographic is sufficiently large ...

Nintendo has the LEAST to fear from any competition, because unlike Sony and Microsoft they rely on first-party software instead of multi-plats.

And no one has anything to fear from Steam Machines, unless what's coming out this fall is wildly different than what was unveiled months ago: just a bunch of obscenely overpriced prebuild PCs.

Only idiots with more money than sense would buy one.

Why can't you believe that?

Have you never seen a company abandon a platform before?

See the Xbox and Xbox 2, the Dreamcast, the Gamecube, the Wii, the PSP, etc., etc.

It's what happens.

And it's all the more likely to happen prematurely with big companies like Sony and Microsoft because they can afford to ignore a platform.

Unless they announce some Dragon Quest localization, we're all gonna be looooooooosers.

Nice.

More cool costume DLC for Japan.

Uh... have you seen TW3? They do a LOT of little tricks to keep the game from rendering very much of that "huge world" at once.

Kind of hard to develop one game in two different engines at the same time.

But I certainly hope you're right.

And the other two problems I have are, admittedly, lesser, and easy enough to mod out (for PC gamers, at least).

I hope it's not true, because it sounds awful. Forcing your character to have a voice? Forcing players to only be able to play as a single gender? STILL using the ****ing Gamebryo engine?

Terrible.

I think we can expect more of the same, rather than "bigger and better."

Does the PS4 even have (official) drivers yet? I gave up on using a DS3 because the (unofficial) drivers would just randomly stop working.

Anyway, I assume "PS4 controller support" simply means the game will recognize a PS-brand controller and display PS button prompts instead of the silly Xbox prompts.

No, even with the EXP bug, you can still level.

3289d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Huh. Didn't even know there was a PS3 port.
The PSP version was like $5 during the last "flash sale."

3289d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

That would be the Gamebryo engine, which Bethesda has been using since Oblivion. (And, fun fact, they accomplished much more demanding stuff with it in Oblivion than they did in ANY of the subsequent games).

If it is indeed a cross-generation game, it's all but-certain Fallout 4 will use Gamebryo, too.
