So is Dragon Quest.

Let's start the funeral pyres, folks, and burn this whole rotten world down.

You forgot Wind Waker.

Even that's not really necessary--it's perfectly possible to allow players to customize a voice actor's performance by adjusting bass/treble levels and playback speed.

Which can effectively create hundreds of different permutations of the same voice.

...It's not a matter of being right or wrong, saying anything about the next TES game is simply talking out of your ass.

I don't know.

Fallout isn't exactly the same as TES, even if Fallout 3 was uncomfortably samey in a few too many respects... I think a voiced protagonist might be a good thing for Fallout, provided it's a neutral voice that doesn't shoehorn the player into a specific personality-type.

Anything to help distinguish Fallout more from TES is a good thing, in my book.

Two great voice actors for the male and female voices?

Cool.

Good to see that rumor about only being able to play as a male turned out to be false. Here's hoping both voices really are good, so it's not another Mass Effect situation.

But, anyway, my biggest reaction to this news?

I really, really, really ****ing hope Bethesda hires MORE than just two voice actors for Fallout 4, instead of blowing their entire VA budge...

Gonna call it right now: not a bit of it will be Dragon Questy.

And most of it will be laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

I read a ton of books, short stories, essays, etc.
I play a ton of games.
I watch lots of movies, television, etc.
Across decades and languages.

I have yet to encounter a SINGLE work of narrative media is so dependent on another piece of media that it cannot be appreciated by itself.

As such, I am sick to death of people taking this premise seriously. The answer is always, always, always yes.

Well, that article was a waste of time to read.

To save everyone else the trouble, allow me to summarize: "Mario Kart 8 is a really good game, and the DLC makes it better."

Ever heard of Legend of Galactic Heroes? If you haven't, check it out. It's awesome.

Anyway, it's based on a series of novels by Yoshiki Tanaka. His most famous novels? Arslan Senki. The novels were illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano, who you may recognize as the guy responsible for ALL of the awesome Final Fantasy art that exists.

Anyway, that old OVA movie was the first adaptation of the novels, way back when.

Right now, there's...

I'm really baffled by all this support. Was Castlevania really that popular? And there are so many Castlevania games--so why is there so much demand for a new one?

Don't get me wrong, I hope it'll be a good game, but I just feel like Kickstarter is better served funding games in dead genres (like Bard's Tale IV, for a current example)... Metroidvania titles are pretty common, all things considered.

...Wasn't the Saint Seiya(sp?) Musou game localized in English?

I'd say this has a pretty good chance of being localized, because A) it's a musou game, and most musou games get localized; B) it's based on the new Arakawa adaptation, and her stuff tends to be really popular everywhere.

By the time this game comes out, the first season or two of the anime adaptation will be finished; the first three or four volumes of the manga adaptation will h...

Ah, Marcello. Really wish this game would get localized. To this day I have yet to see a better antagonist.

Sony never really tried to do that, though. From the Start, they only ever wanted to market the Vita as a PS3 accessory.

When that didn't work, they tried to market it as a PS4 accessory. And then, a TV accessory.

When the 3DS was failing, Nintendo countered by producing a lot more games for it. When the Vita was failing, Sony started porting what good Vita games there were to other platforms.

...And how many of those RPGs can only be played on the Vita?
...And how many of those are actually good?

Even accounting for... taste, that ain't a high number.

3278d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Most of 'em.

Even the terrible, terrible Total War games they shit out manage to sell well.

Nice to see Japanese publishers (finally) start recognizing Steam as a viable market. It's a crying shame they didn't recognize this sooner.

And with all of the shovelware hitting Steam, is anyone else surprised we haven't seen a bunch of emulated SNES/PS1/Whatever games hit Steam, too?

Traditional media has less and less power every day.

If you want to sell your game, you can reach more consumers spending zero dollars on some big Youtubers than spending All Of The Dollars on old media.

That wasn't my expectation for the conference, it was my expectation to the general reaction to the conference.

Because it's the exact same every year. Half of us whine about what wasn't shown, the other half tries to convince everyone else it was the best presentation ever.

Disappointment and spin are the machines that power N4G, ya' know.

I really don't get why people look to SONY to prop up their hardware. Sony has ALWAYS been terrible at software support.

Look to the third parties.
Always, always, always look to the third parties.
