So at this rate the ps3 will overtake the 360... when? Seems like a very very long time. In the mean time, the 360's larger install base is definitely helping it sell more software numbers - that's pretty dang important, too.
Close only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades! Sorry Sony!
The average Joe who just wants to be able to view the page? I don't work as a producer or developer, so I could care less the hoops they have to jump through to get something to work in each environment :)
And with the cross functionality of the PS3, it's great!
I have the Daxter bundle with Family Guy movie - does that count as one sale? If so, then I imagine that's helped a lot. And I bought the Vice Stories (#2 sold) - it's nice buying games for under 20 bucks!!!
You aren't the only one that's played it while sitting on the toilet!
I literally just bought one today. Watching Hero's through the internet on my PSP screen while the file resides on my home PC and I am 30 miles away is AWESOME! Beats the iPod for video watching any day.
Can't wait for the BluRay managed copy stuff to kick in!
But I don't want to pay that much - For me I have a quite capable Samsung for far less. Still looks stunning - I don't think the Sony looked 600-900 bucks better.
And, all of my friends own Xbox's. I am the only one of my "real life" friends that own a PS3. I'll gladly pay the $50 to play online with all of them - it's money well spent in my book.
(And not to start a flame bait - but my PS3 online experience has been less than stellar - lagging and poor to no found connections with Army of Two and UT3)
I'm laughing at all you clowns that bought into the marketing play that "true HD" or "full HD" has to mean 1080p. The marketers job here was done fantastically well. Most of the people here seem to have bought into it.
Well, if you look at my game library, 23 xbox 360 games, compared to just 3 with ps3. So, in my humble opinion, I think the xbox does have better games. (I've had both of them for some time now).
I think you see less because this site is so pathetically pro-Sony/anti-Microsoft that it's pointless to try and have a decent conversation anymore.
The numbers are good all around, really. Most (all?) have the little + next to them.
And please don't be silly and think that BR's win had nothing to do with it. I don't know how much it helped, but it sure as heck definitely didn't hurt!
Negative.
Perhaps I'm the only gamer out there who hasn't noticed the slightest difference in connection quality at all? Plus, the grenade killcam is just too cool.
You, sir, are a doofus.
A BR add-on is fine, but I still don't really think it's going to happen any time soon. And besides, it'll just be for movies anyway, so no biggie.
And people need to remember that BluRay doesn't equal Sony. Many many companies support/are responsible for BR.
But of course I get disagrees, as the people who will post on N4G are not the regular Joe 6 Pack variety, and will care about Home.
I'm putting about $100 on Home being a niche/novelty for most users. Sure, I'll spend about 10 minutes checking it out once it's first out, but really don't have any interest in a "second life" type of place.
They've always said from day 1 that a BR peripheral add-on was a possibility. They know that HD-DVD is dead in the water. If they feel as though they can't win with digital distribution via Xbox Live, or that coupling that method with a BR player makes solid business sense for them, then they'll make one. Until then, I'm sure they have other things to worry about.
