I'm well aware the paths of the 3 protagonists in GTAIV didn't overlap a lot, but it's called progression and served as a toe in the water for Rockstar and what they will provide with GTAV.

Elwenil, how about waiting to see how it's implemented? GTAIV effectively had multiple characters playable within the same environment and time frame and I thought as a complete game with all the DLC it was only stronger as a whole. The Grand Theft Auto games have always had a wacky and diverse range of characters that I have been able to connect with, not just the player character, I'm sure GTAV will be no different in this sense.
SOME games (Some being the key word here). Very few people own a Vita + PS3, so don't count on many games taking advantage of remote play. WiiU on the other hand has this by default and expect developers to take full advantage.

Well yes, you would think the console that released a year later with a much higher RRP would have superior graphics to the cheaper, older console. Then again, that hasn't always been the case, has it?

The problem is, rival platforms such as smartphones and tablets are only going to improve over this time period. Personally I would prefer a Vita, but I can understand why Joe Public might look to a similarly priced tablet or the phone they already carry in their pocket and not see much value for money in a Vita.

I find that hard to believe, he was pretty much the public face of epic and an integral part of one of the most critically and commercially successful series of this generation.
A poor and unnecessary comparison. Cliff may not produce games to your particular taste, but, unlike Mr Bay, his creative output has received both critical and commercial success, as opposed to simply the latter.
Perhaps the areas EA/Danger Close released for preview didn't give an accurate/fair representation of the game as a whole.
I find it hard to understand the concept of being a "die hard" fan of any console. Console are simply a means to play games, I care little for the hardware, it's all about the games, whether it's the PS3, 360 or even older consoles such as the N64 or SNES. It's the games the matter, not the lump of silicon and circuitry you play them on.
