LOL, too true
Scorpio is going to be $500, $549 or $599
In no world or scenario will it ever be launching at $399.
The whole point of the avatar is to say "$20 is nothing to me".
To look like you're rich or something though $20 doesn't exactly prove that.
But private matches never came in any of those DLC/patches
When was it ever claimed that Destiny would get PS4 Pro support?
I'm positive they'd say something and it would be big news if that were true.
I could see Destiny getting HDR but not the 4k update, Destiny was never even on PC so it might not have ever had 4k assets for an update like that. I think the textures are 1080p from the ground up.
I really want to see how big VR gets once Sonys HMD drops.
In contrast
FF13 started out linear then became more open once you reached Grand Pulse which was a ways into the game
In FF 15 you apparently start off in a huge open world sort of setting and it becomes more linear later on when you're farther into the story. That's what I read at least and it seems to be the case from those demos of them driving the car then going off a dirt path to some optional dungeon in an abandoned mine. All near the start of the game.
They showed it at the PS Meeting, there are even comparison videos, it's definitely getting Pro support.
I'm pretty excited about this one too because they come out so close to each other (FF15 and PS4 Pro)
It's there in the video settings in this update, i was skeptical as well but it's there, confirmed.
We still need a game to patch in HDR mode though.
Exactly, I wish they had a sample test that I could try out to see the difference on PS4. I'd have to find a 1080p video source with hdr enabled. I just won't to see it running through the PS4 because there are apparently different versions on HDR.
I've tested it out on my tv raw (smart tv video player through usb) but the videos were all 4k which the PS4 won't play. http://demo-uhd3d.com/ca...
The slim is cheaper, cheaper on power consumption and most likely runs a lot cooler and quieter. Not that I've heard any reports about the Pro being loud, it's just an educated guess that the slim will be quieter. For some people those things matter, especially since regular PS4 games already look great.
I don't think HDR will be in this update. I've been on 4.00 in beta for like a month and there was no HDR option.
Remember that whole "coding to the metal" thing that was tossed around a lot when the PS4 was announced?
It's the same reason the PS4 Pro "punches above its weight class".
PCs are bogged down by their OS and other applications, similarly spec'd PCs can't do what console can, they have to be better.
Now reaching the Pro quality on a $400 budget? lol
And LMAO at the people below tacking the cost of PS+/XBL on to the...
I'm for Sony all day but I really hope you get banned soon for spamming this same comment in every topic relating to PS4 Pro. Please get banned and go away.
Is anyone concerned about how big the Scorpio is going to be? I mean its actual, physical size.
The PS4 Pro is bigger than the standard PS4 because the extra power causes more heat so it needs better cooling. Wouldn't that cause a more powerful console to be even bigger? 6Tf, 12Gb RAM. I just imagine it's gonna be this big, clunky, expensive, hot, loud machine. One of my biggest reasons for not getting into gaming on a PC is the size/aesthetics, price, heat and powe...
Adding the drive would have barely raised hardware cost, not even a $50 increase. They just really don't want to go over $400 because of how bad it hurt them with the PS3 launch. They're scared and they don't want to sell consoles at a loss so here we are.
This article is a lie, there's no way the laser is able to read the same otherwise 4k/uhd blu ray players would be way cheaper. Then again those 4k upscale players are pretty cheap. Who to believe :/
The firmware update that includes it will be out soon so we'll just see what it's like then.
My tv has HDR so this should be interesting an might be a nice boost while I wait on the Pro.
They never said it was going to be 1080p upscaled. In fact I heard many times that it was closer to 4k then upscaled the rest of the way. Even the digital foundry breakdown said it was reaching 4k by doubling the pixels with some checker board method which means it's at least half the number of pixel of a 4k frame and that's doble the number of 1080ps pixel count on its own
Probably for a few thousands, like 10k, Sony would find out their own way before spending a million.
More importantly, why is this story just now coming out 3 years late?
