Actually it is the Reference models of the 290X that ran hot. Even though I just put a water block on mine, it rarely hit 70c under full load when overclocked to 1130. Now? well I have to try to get it over 50c XD. I have the ASUS DirectCU II version. and that is about on par with a 780ti version of the same card.
They do use a little more power, but nothing drastic, the hawaii gpus use about 5-10% more watts on average vs a Kepler gk110

They don't move a lot faster, they are moving at the same speed, it is just smoother, more like real life.

Eh, cost isn't really a factor. If a gaming PC is your platform of choice you get cheaper games, no online subscription fee. Sure most people opt for PCs that are more expensive than a console, but you dont need to to have a good experience (AND NO you wont need to upgrade every year or even two, or 3,4... Can we let that myth die?).

Apps like Gaming Evolved and Geforce experience keep your drivers up to date and will optimize your games automatically, also things like big picture will allow you to game completely with a controller. If a game comes out on consoles and pc these days it supports a controller....
Game runs like crap on PC, and is knowingly gimped... Wish it sold less. Ubisoft always says "PC is important... We are pushing each platform to the max..." Right.
I regret buying that game, even though it was fun. Ubisoft is starting to remind me of EA, and Activision at their worst.
