But I guess that's to be expected for someone who hasn't been gaming long ("grew up on a Dreamcast"?!!). If you really want to pick Sega games that need to be brought into the current gen you need to go back to the Genesis and Saturn days. But considering how terrible Sega is these days, and how the new Golden Axe is turning out (no multiplayer? WTF?!) I'd rather keep my old favorites as fond memories rather than see them tarnished with sloppy current gen editions.
You state that it's sad how everyone's only focused on the graphics, and then go on about the graphics.
Anyway, gameplaywise Gears is dumb fun. It's the greasy cheeseburger next to GRAW's filet mignon.
How can one compare a stop and pop third person game to a first person shooter?! I've owned and beaten both offerings, and if there's anything to say about the two, it's that Gears was embarassingly short next to Resistance. Sort of a "that's it?!" when I reached the end, as I was expecting more. Neither game really blew me away.
Anyway, if we're going to compare Gears to anything it should be GRAW2. In that comparison Gears falls way short. GRAW2 not only has the beautiful...
I've got to get this game.
Honestly Sony is doing just fine so far by catching Micro in Europe, and blowing them out of the water in Japan. It's just a matter of time before Micro slips into third place at the going rate, so how important have all of these timed exclusives truly been for Microsoft? Timed exclusives are a waste. If I know a PS3 version is hitting, and it's the version I really want then I'll wait for it. If you're going to do the exclusive thing you have to make it yours and only yours, and for Sony I t...
At least in the screenshots used for comparison. Everything in Gears 1 is sharp, and there's more architecture if you compare. Gears2 has that crappy hazey background look I'm not fond of, and as I mentioned, less architecture and detail in the backgrounds.
Of course this doesn't mean Gears 2 won't look better in the end, it's still early in development.
But it's been Game Over for software sales ever since piracy took over the system. Thanks Dark Alex!
The system has solid editions of Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, God of War, Ridge Racer, Socom, GTA, and even a classic Castlevania game ported and to no avail...software sales stink. The reason why is simple: Piracy.
Sony seems to have done well w/hardware sales so perhaps we'll see a PSP2 down the road, and hopefully Sony will apply some of the lessons learned w/PSP to prevent a repeat performance.
Unless people care more about looks than value.
Now you're going to ruin the PS3 by giving pirates exactly what they want/need to play games they do not own. I can already see the pirates bragging about how they installed a 500gb hd and loaded it with PS3 games, because that's exactly what this crap leads to. Asshole.
Get ready for 10,452 "PS3 vs 360 Bioshock" comparison videos/pics on N4G. Can we simply ban the first idiot to post one of these?
Who was the moron who mislead us with that title? He merely stated the obvious; that Halo 3 is extremely mainstream and Gears is not.
No built in wi-fi? Old media format? Hardriveless bundles? Piss poor hardware quality? No internet access? Letting key developers slip away? Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Awesome fighter franchise, now with more T&A than the DOA games.
FTL...
As long as the game turns out better than Sega's usual crop of published garbage. I'm not holding my breath on Hulk given the history of movie tie-in games forced out the door to meet the theatrical release.
Usually when a company rips off another company's idea (Sorry, but that old M$ joystick is not comparable to a Wiimote) they improve upon the design. This looks completely imferior to Nintendo's Wiimote! Where's the buttons go? Microsoft seems to be lost in what to do with the 360.
I'm so tired of these fan driven opinion pieces being posted like they're news. Bioshock is so old now does anyone really give a crap if it comes to PS3? And PS3 owners, do you know you can just buy this game for the PC?! Virtually every big 360 exclusive can be played on PC.
I thought this was going to be a platformer. Guess it'll be the "tech demo" for the Wiimote ripoff.
You can pick up the 360 version for $18 new at Circuit City (if you can find it). Are they going to try and sell the PS3 version for full price?
