Do yourself a favor. If you can afford the 1080p system, get it. You will be kicking yourself for not doing so... If you have a Bluray player, then it would be foolish to get a 720p system, although for ONLY gaming 720p (or less) at THIS point seems to the average resolution.
The follow article does a fairly decent job of describing the differences between 720p and 1080p. It is however a little dated in the opinion commentary, stating that there is no much 1080p content. ...
What I find, that is even more interesting, is the LTD numbers for the PS3 in Europe.
The PS3 has not even been out a full year, and has surpassed the total life time sales of the 360 in many of the areas. It is clear that by summer, if not sooner, all of Europe COULD fall...
The LTD spread will only go up in Japan.
Microsoft really needs to do something to break this momentum, otherwise only North America will be left...
I saw this posted on another forum...

There probably will not be an internal disk drive. By next gen, the solid state drive will be fairly common. They are already on the market now...
A few new SSD drive will be shown at CES... lots of Cell based hardware as well...

FYI...
Warner already produces Bluray content. May is when they stop releasing HD DVD content entirely.
Notice the column for size...

I just found them on neoGAF...
For everyone saying that is does not run at 1080p, what "p" does it run at? You guy do know what the "p" stands for right? This game does run at 1080p.
1080p = 1080p
Confirmed at 1080p...
1280*1080*60= 82944000 pixels per second in it's 1080 mode.
Edit: If you are going to disagree, please tell me what you think the Y resolution is...
He already debunked his own article, if you read the posts...
I would suggest that Mr Chen actually use some method, before he continually puts his foot in his mouth... The is the second time, in less than 24 hours he has been proven HIMSELF wrong.
And the second time in 24 hours that this blog/article site has provided FALSE information.
All contracts have termination clauses for licensing upon acquisition or divestiture of a company. Every license must be renegotiated for either repurchase or transfer.
It is part of the TERM and TERMINATION portion of any license agreement.
Unless you work in the law department of either company, we really do not know what can/will happen. And if you did, you would be NDA on this subject.
Jin Roh ripped off the Nazis... After all, they were the ones that actually wore the stuff we are seeing.
I suggest you go to google images, and type: waffen ss gasmask
There are some books out there that show the SS, with huge cloaks, helmet, and gas masks... even some with the horses wearing gas masks... its creepy...
Just like Lucas and the "storm troopers"... everyone loves to rip off the Nazis... which is weird, but mostly becaus...
I like that fact the the web browser is really fast now. I also go to gametrailers and gamersyde and download any WMV or Quicktime that they have.
It works really well... I have been using TVersity since it is superior to the Windows Media DLNA server product, but this update makes TVersity less needed.
I like the mugshots thing... I was playing earlier and everyone had a camera... really funny...
I have mine pointing to a stuffed animal... another person had theirs showing a mr potato head...
It was 266 at around 3.03, and has been 333 (capable) since 3.52... game devs can decide to run at 333...
I just listened to it, and he did fine. He is a young kid, who is applying himself, and with experience he will only get better.
At least it wasn't a Kotaku self-ego-drama that also includes an interview... or a Joystiq stealth troll article...
Thoughts... since it seems like we are giving advice on this thread?

The 360 will not output uncompressed 5.1 PCM audio (or 7.1) over the HDMI port. The HDMI port on 360's do not even meet the full HDMI 1.0 spec...
