I like how they are trying to rewrite history as if the only problems with Cyberpunk 2077 were with last gen console optimization. Missing features and broken game-play led to every version of the game being vastly inferior to what was advertised.

The Forza series has been the highest rated racing franchise the past generation yet Microsoft barely mentions it in this press release. It shows that they can make good games and also that the people in quality control don't play racing games since otherwise they would know what a good game looks like.

Nothing Microsoft has written here will make gamers forget Redfall. They probably wrote the same thing after Crackdown 3 and in the last 4 years they have released almost no good games to brag about. The only dependable thing with XBox is the PR and its constant spin.

"historically multi platform"

The last 2 Bethesda games Sony paid to keep off of XBox so don't act like there are any good guys here.

The one thing Destiny 2 developers are masters in is "lazy." After 1 expansion and 2 seasons of content, the only weapons that are not reskins are the six from the raid. Plenty of new Eververse cosmetics designs though.

As for difficulty, these same devs just changed Destiny 2 so that you are level-handicapped in most content and will get one-shot if you even step into the new patrol zone before you are max level.

When was the last time Microsoft released a good game that they talked about? XBox 360 generation?

Talk is definitely cheap when it comes to XBox. While the showcase did have a lot of games I am interested in, Microsoft's track record means I have little confidence in them being any good.

Yet PlayStation Studios is more than happy with releasing Destiny 2: Lightfall and its 66 Metacritic score - and this is from the studio Sony just paid $3.6 billion to tell them how to make good GaaS.

@SullysCigar

Destiny 2 is hardly free. The base game, which Bungie stripped half of it away and hasn't updated the other half, is free. The expansions are not free. You want to play Lightfall - that's $50. You want the current season - that's another $15. You want to play the new dungeon that just came out - that's $20. Cosmetics from the seasonal event - that's $10 for the privilege of grinding away at them.

You clearly don'...

Destiny 2 just released 3 PlayStation themed costumes for $20 each. The prices these companies are starting to charge is outrageous. You could by a great indie game for less than the price of a MTX dress.

Diablo 3 also had almost no haptic feedback, but don't let that distract you from a good Microsoft/Activision Blizzard conspiracy.

This is a trailer showing the changes that have happened to Earth and the Labyrinth since your actions decades ago in the previous game. If you want to see the other worlds, you should watch the other trailers.

Seems like you are upset that Earth and Ward 13 are used again.

Nintendo Switch succeeded because customers liked the hardware. It isn't software that sells Nintendo consoles since all of them have the same basic library. Nintendo didn't go from having 100 million fans who bought the Wii to just 12 million fans who bought the Wii U and then created 125 million fans with the Switch. It has always been about hardware with Nintendo sales.

Bungie is a C-tier developer so the only way someone is going to affect the entire community is if their name is Weasel.

Except that Naughty Dog was able to release the standalone Uncharted:Lost Legacy a little over a year after Uncharted 4. I guess you believe that Naughty Dog is not as talented now as they were 7 years ago.

Talk is cheap and I've lost count of how many developers have posted this exact same Twitter statement. It was 4 years between the release of Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Part 2 yet three years is not enough time to finish a PVP mode to an existing game.

E3 2016 had God of War, Days Gone, Death Stranding, and Spider-Man reveals as well as showcasing Horizon: Zero Dawn, Detroit: Become Human, and PSVR. It also had the announcement of Resident Evil 7.

It just goes to show how different things used to be. Sony could put together 2 amazing conferences in 2015 and 2016 and now after waiting 2 years we got the disappointment that was yesterday.

365d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

No, E3 2016 was nearly perfect. The showcase yesterday was about as far away from that as one could get. Both conferences came out at the same point in their respective console's life. First-party wise all we have to look forward to on the PS5 is the 3rd Spider-Man game in 6 years and a couple of CGI trailers for some GaaS that nobody wants.

I have no problem with the design. Hori has a whole line for the Switch that is essentially 2 halves of a pro controller replacing the Joy-Cons and it took them years before they could be kept in stock. I do doubt there is much of a market for Project Q though.

I'm tired of hearing the excuse that the reason Sony doesn't reveal first-party games is because they learned their lesson about revealing games too soon. When exactly was the last time Sony failed and announced a first-party game too soon - the PS3 era? I cannot remember it happening during the PS4 era yet each conference was filled with first-party reveals. E3 2016 showed why gamers wanted a PS4 both now and in the next 3 years. They announced both God of War and Days Gone with ...

Code for Eververse integration, zero customer service, and manipulative practices that were developed in casinos. Destiny's success is less about the quality of its content and more from marketing and a well-developed hamster wheel.
