I find the people who claim they don't like things being censored are completely in favor of it when it suits their social agenda. Just look at all those who whine about cancel culture are the ones busy banning books. The world has become a bunch of snowflakes who have to be offended all of the time.

Apparently Crystal Dynamics cannot take out some posters because it destroys the integrity of Tomb Raider 3, but changing the graphics and controls is perfectly ok. Th...

Is anyone surprised that everybody who is "upset" about this and making videos off of it didn't care at all about Tomb Raider Remastered before this? There is an entire industry built upon being upset by the slightest of things.

People saying this is ruining the nostalgia of the original Tomb Raider 3 yet there doesn't seem to be any screenshots of this monumental moment in gaming. TR3 came out in 1998 - they've had 25 years to upload a screenshot.

Everyone calling the character model ugly to fit their social agenda would probably be posting videos/articles complaining about Alien and The Terminator if they were released today. "Woke Hollywood is butchering female characters - instead of getting supermodels we are forced to watch Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton!"

Nobody complained about the way the Kay Vess looked in the cgi trailer last year. Ubisoft didn't change the way the character model looke...

Except it isn't "the ONLY single player game in the top 10" - right above where it states that is the chart that shows Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Hogwarts Legacy in the Switch Top 10.

Also remember that these reports are put together by analyst groups looking to sell their information to investors. They don't say where they get their information from and most of it is vague ...

@Ra3030

If you only play Destiny 2 when they raise the level cap then you must have not touched the game in over a year. I see how it helps thinking a game is doing ok when you don't actually play it. It seems that the only people who think Destiny 2 is doing great and challenge every story about the game are the fanatics of its new owners. Current Destiny 2 players don't think the game is going well. Bungie knows the game is doing badly through sales and player...

How do you explain Bungie firing almost 10% of its workforce after sales were revealed if everything is going ok just like every other year?

You seem like a player completely satisfied with Lightfall - would you care to describe some of your favorite parts?

Looking at the current list of games available for preorder, this really isn't that impressive. Just 3 places behind Stellar Blade preorders in Destiny 2: The Final Shape - which preorder numbers were down 75% resulting in almost 10% of Bungie staff being fired.

No matter what, Resident Evil 5 is still a ridiculous game where Chris Redfield gets in a fistfight with a boulder.

If you think Dragons Dogma 2 is the only game being attacked here for microtransactions, let me refresh your memory.

"How do you get them in Monster Hunter World?"

You can get them free and if you still cannot make up your mind about the gender/race of your character after using your free voucher, then you can buy more. You can edit your character's hair, facial hair, makeup, and clothing for free without using a voucher.

None of these have anything do with gameplay, unlike the MTXs that you are defending.

None of the microtransactions in Monster Hunter World had any effect on gameplay - they were all cosmetic options. Combine that with free updates to the game as well as no ingame advertisements for MTXs and you'll see why players didn't complain. Compare that with Dragon's Dogma 2 where all the MTXs are gameplay items and you'll see why people are rightfully upset.

People defending Dragon's Dogma 2 MTXs because they are "easy to get" fail to ...

How many times can Capcom sell you that Deluxe Edition?

That's the difference between Deluxe Editions and MTXs. They are not even comparable, especially since MTXs are baked into the gameplay and most games are made worse from them.

I like how for some, it is never Bungie's fault. Microsoft, Activision, and now Sony - it is everyone else who is pushing Bungie to make all these bad decisions.

In a year where Hasbro did everything they could to kill off Dungeons & Dragons (following the year they tried to kill off Magic: The Gathering), D&D had both a successful movie video game. In 2020, Hasbro pledged to double profits and after that was successful they pledged to do it again in 2022. Each year they are developing new ways to extract as much money from gamers as possible - such as $1,000 for 4 packs of 30th Anniversary MtG. Here's what they wanted to do with D&...

I've seen plenty of ads on TV for Suicide Squad and PS5 while not seeing any for Helldivers 2. Sony is spending millions advertising the game on ESPN and TNT during any sporting event. Have you seen the Will Arnett live-action ad they put out?

The industry will blame the consumers and not the fact that they are creating bad games. Gamers have rejected cash-grab GaaS plenty of times yet the industry still keeps putting out these souless games. The whole point of this...

A pretty good critique of the current gaming industry. A great example of the current dysfunction in the industry ia the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League vs Helldivers 2. Sony is spending millions telling gamers to play Suicide Squad while at the same time publishing a game superior to it in every way yet not bothering to market it. When Suicide Squad failures, it will be the consumers that are blamed and that they don't want always-online 3rd person shooters.

If Sony can't afford to keep its talent and studios open, where is all the money going to from the increased game and PS+ costs? We were already told that gamers had to pay for the changes in the economy and now that we have, we still get less games and smaller studios.

I guess all those record profits and sales records this generation don't really mean anything in the face of corporate greed/mismanagement.

The end of Destiny 2 and the end of Bungie's independence. After 2024, who knows what Sony is going to do with them. We are still waiting to see what they are going to do with Housemarque and Bluepoint Games. All we do know is that the soundtrack will suck.

Sony gives the guy who at a Playstation event pointed to a PS1 game and said "why would anyone play this" a PS1 themed PS5 as a parting gift. Pretty clever.
