And $349 with (remember there are two models, priced differently for 3G and without). If they price it exactly the same as their competition they create a perceived value similarity with the 3DS, when it is clearly a higher spec/ tech item. They can't price it so high that they price themselves out of the market either (as they did with the PS3, initially).
That's my take anyway. Grabbing one day one regardless of the price - it's a sick piece of kit.
Of course they will cut the price. It won't be 3-4 hundred dollars forever. PS3 has 5 more years and 3 price cuts left. There will be a reduction this year for sure.
If you read one of Kojima's comments, he makes reference to a game that you play on the NGP THEN bring home to play on your big screen. And not some mini or upscaled PSP game, a real Kojima game.

The initial addiction has waned a bit. It's as bad as WoW was back in the day. Probably gonna pick up some JRPGs next month. Zill O'll for sure.
A league? There's no way to see the content otherwise, ques were up to 7 hours till a few days ago. 20 hours is BARELY enough to reach lvl cap - that's with coffee and a diaper and no sleep. It isn't enough for anyone to see the depth of the content, not even enough to scratch the surface.

I never slammed the game at all either, I questioned the reviewer and his ability to give qualified reviews. It's clear that LBP 2 is a blockbuster masterpiece, and I'm going to pick it up after the summer myself. Read more, rage less.
utterly sub-par DCUO review. before giving the man props. Can't even reach endgame in 20 hours. But I'm sure it's totally thorough. /sarcasm
This is just damage control.
But I'm a relatively tech-savvy consumer. Most people are NOT. And yes, having two near identical devices, both that play some variant of Playstation games (decision 1) one that makes phone calls and one that does not (decision 2), can be confusing. The more decisions you give a consumer to make, the more confused they get. Apple and Nintendo have generated consumer interest for their products because they are SIMPLE, not complex to grasp or purchase.

And that doesn't even have 3G or Android (OS is already THERE). Just saying. It doesn't need a full feature-set, just touchscreen for numeric entries (which is purportedly might have - a touchscreen).
There's no need for two devices. It would give it an edge over the 3DS too. I would LOVE a portable HD gaming console/ PDA/ Phone with actual BUTTONS.
A PSP Phone and a PSP2 just creates consumer confusion.
There are many others like it on the market. It's not as if Sony is making some obscene money fleece. Will we get the same coverage for Rifts? Or Knights of the Old Repulic? I wonder.
those games were universal turds. DCUO is not. It's a diamond, a bit rough, but still a diamond among the MMOs released this past decade.
Oh, and suck that Gertsmann. It's clear who the odd man out is in this scenario.
Edit: And as others have pointed out, heavy front-end sales gives the developers all the more reason to push development for the game.

Actually looks - gasp - fun to play. They missed the mark with XIII a bit, but the whole crisis core/ FFXII hybrid thing they have going on looks brilliant.
