the closest thing to Firefox we could get on PS3 is the current PS3 browser running on a stripped down Gecko engine.. the Gecko itself has soo many features (addons and themes being the biggest) that Sony will prevent coming on the PS3 to avoid PS3's getting hacked (precaution).. this means that things like the XUL runner won't be there as afaik XUL is only used for drawing firefox specific images on the screen and they're used for addons.. and the interface won't be like Firefox's.. tbh.. it...

look, you gotta admit x-chat is loooooooooooong overdue, it should have come with the "x-music" which like 1% of the games support the feature (note the exaggeration).. and x-music was implemented nicely but executed poorly, why is it still not mandatory for devs to integrate this feature in order to get the game approved?

imagine installing ubuntu on Acer Aspire 5920G laptop, and everything works! and opened it up, installed a bluetooth module (official one) and works just as perfect right after install.. obv i should have said "works right after install" only thing i had to install is graphics drivers, which ubuntu found for me, i just had to click "activate" and within seconds it was up and running.. and NO RESTART NEEDED! windows on the other hand, you would have to search for the driver...
try everything working out of the box after install.. that good enough for your huge library of drivers? how about, an whole office package FOR FREE preinstalled? open source you say? try no source editing needed.. great program support? try wine, yes wine isn't perfect.. but i dont see microsoft doing something similar :/ ... hell, linux is so good, that it can be run off windows without any trouble..
it's not like either Mozilla or Sony gonna say "yes we do have plans for that" before they actually decide to announce it lol.. if Firefox is coming to PS3, they will keep denying it until Sony decides they want everyone to know (usually a few days before the firmware update)
