tbf, they don't have to mention the RRoD. The article was about the PS3's YLoD, not the 360's RRoD. also what iamnsuperman said.. Watchdog WILL make the problem sound bigger than it actually is just to make the company reply and give a compensation (cos then watchdog will say "yeah they paid compensation and blabla").. they did the same thing for Xbox 360.
what inveni0 said... for the record, the current hacking stuff is sony's own fault, if they weren't d*cks about removing OtherOS from the fat version, only the fat version would be *probably* be hacked, and the slim would have been fine, but as soon as they removed OtherOS i knew sony dug their own grave.. homebrewers WILL hack something if they want, pirates... not so much..

what zeevious said, current ps3s are impossible to apply this to, even if they find some way of speeding up the current usbs (cos right now that is the only feasible connection, but it's almost impossible since the usb ports on there are 2.0), and allowing it to accept the external cpu, sony would have to compromise A LOT of security, which they are not prepared to risk.

about the button layout, a while ago there was a psp mod that attached a DS2 to the PSP and it was actually playable, so you would basically only be missing the sixaxis feature..
