skype is still more than possible on the ps3 lol.. my phone which has only 32MB memory in total runs it in the background with ease.. hell there are mobile phones out there that don't have anymore than 10mb ram and they can run it easily.. naah it must be something else stopping sony from putting skype on the ps3.. not the ram!
people that buy this game must be crazy.. i know i won't be buying it unless it is for less than £40 (usual price for new games for me).. tbh, if this sells well, people are going to follow.. other companies will start with such pricing as well..
i gotta give it Activision tho, they picked a good game to experiment on.. hmm! meh aint gonna get more than £40 from me!

that sony had saved the GT5 release date for GamesCom or Leipzig! Europeans are the craziest about GT games.. also i wouldn't be surprised if GT5 sold less than Forza 3 in the US, while in the EU and Japan, Forza 3 would sell less..
considering my laptop's built in camera (1.3mp) and the built in microphone can do both facial recognition (Key Lemon and Face API) and voice recognition (Dragon Naturally Speaking) i don't see why the PS3 Eye can't do it.. especially since the PS3 Eye is higher quality, does motion sensing, and has a 4-array microphone for noise cancellation and whatever not, i highly doubt its going to be hard for Sony to make voice and facial recognition.. i didn't choose both coz i needed money for other stuff, but i went for the PS3, and it seems that i did make the right choice for myself.. why?

currently the only games i play are: WipeOut HD, replaying Uncharted AND CoD4 (mostly CoD4 btw).. there have been games that were much more hyped than these games, yet i only play these..

as for chrome OS being a flop, i doubt that very much, simply coz google has the money to get people to work with them, many big brands including acer, asus, hp and toshiba amongst others.. these 4 i just mentioned are ALL big names when it comes to hardware manufacturing so you can guess what they will most likely do..

but you gotta look at it this way, PS3 loads all icons of the trophies online, 360 uses the same icons for all of them so the only thing it has to load is that numbers! ;)

omegasyde, they could use OpenGL! many non MS devices use it (iPhone, PS3, Wii, Nokia, PS2, PS1 etc etc), MS devices tho, support both DirectX and OpenGL

Skype doesn't use too much RAM, i don't know how much the PS3's XMB uses, but if it is done cleverly, they run it side by side with the XMB within games with the limited 32MB that is reserved for the XMB.. but then again, anything is possible with clever programming.
and about xfire, i doubt xfire will agree, coz they want to have their own platform and all.. but you neva know, they might..
