Haha, I thought I was the only one who could see that. But the argument that they wanted it to be playable by low power computers and families with younger kids makes sense...
Funny thing about that strategy- WoW still has a lot of life in it to keep those kids occupied. And people will quickly grow bored of a game that looks so dated already.
Lol do some research, FF11 is currently at 500k. Lol and its 8 years old. The highest was a lot more then that. And that was before WoW made MMO's cool- which is a whole other issue.
And SWTOR graphics are already looking sad, people will grow bored with that game and quickly. IMO of course.
Tera is going to be niche-like with an Aion sized fanbase.
SWTOR is going to have about about 2 millions subs in the beginning which will settle after 6 months at 1 million.
MMOs are too varied now-which is great- to get the sort of size WOW has.
FF14, however, will get a huge boost of Final Fantasy players and MMO players and start with a sizable start bigger then most MMO launches nowadays.
