So does this mean Xbone games will run at 780p instead of 720p now (basic math)?
Looks like they needed to keep manufacturing costs down somehow for this peripheral, and the touchscreen was the first thing to go. Kind of a shame, because that touchscreen would have afforded players a ton of flexibility and additional actions.
Judging by your dubious claim that "AC4 looks the same as the PS3 version, with slightly better textures," I'd have to assume that you don't have a very good HDTV to allow you to fairly make graphical comparisons. Therefore, I also question your opinion that BF4 looks better than Shadow Fall.
My guess is that the Xbox One reserves much, much more CPU power for its complex OS setup than the PS4 does, which explains why a dev would be able to "get more out of the PS4 CPU."
I don't get why people are making these nonsensical, unfair comparisons between Ryse and PS4 games. The Xbox One is a technically weaker piece of hardware than the PS4, with ~40% less GPU power, and a slower, more complicated RAM setup. Hence, of course Xbox One games will be inferior on a technical level to the best PS4 titles--it's just common sense.
It's not a fair, apples-to-apples comparison, due to the power discrepancy between the two machines.
LOL... no.
Obviously, the console was rushed in so many ways.
I have bad news for you: The broken XBL/party system and chat features may take up to a year to overhaul and fix, according to developer insiders.

@thrust:
Lol at Xbox fans trying to spin things around as if PS4 owners are the ones regretting their purchases. It's just freaking hilarious (and sad at the same time). Everyday, I hear on forums and on twitter about how someone who bought the Xbox 720 is disappointed with their decision, and how they lament the broken voice chat/party system, the overly complicated UI, the poor framerates and blurry sub-HD visuals, etc., etc., etc.
I'll be enjoying ...
You mean Lag Ops 2? The game with the absolute worst lag compensation I have ever experienced in a videogame? That game was nearly unplayable for me about 50-60% of the time due to the lag comp designed to give laggy players an advantage in certain gameplay situations. I've heard Ghosts is better in this regard.
Some good info: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
They really need to make a Far Cry game set in Antarctica. Imagine all the potential survival gameplay mechanics and other elements promoting immersion, like needing to moderate your body temperature, finding sources of heat, using the snowstorms to help stay hidden, etc.
The entire point of the article is that the Xbone IS NOT selling "at a faster rate." "Selling more per day for 9 days" is NOT the same as "selling faster overall." This is because console launches are EXTREMELY front-loaded -- the vast majority of sales occur on the first day. Therefore, MS lied. The mathematics prove that. Did you read the article?
Someone else did a breakdown of the mathematics that make it pretty clear that the Xbone is NOT se...
200k difference... you using that Major Nelson maths?
Reply to bessy67:
Because using 10-day old sales numbers for PS4 is so fair and accurate.
Based on sales trends, and indications from most retailers, PS4 is significantly outselling the Xbone in the US and EU, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. And Japan/Asia hasn't even entered the equation yet. Why are Xbox fans in such denial about this? Do they really have such ...
Nerfing the MSBS and burst-fire attachment is a step in the right direction, but the weapons in this game are still way overpowered overall. The Honey Badger, despite being a silenced weapon, just melts people with its high damage and low recoil, making it the noob-friendly choice for many.
Either player health needs to be increased, or a comprehensive balance pass needs to be done to all the guns (especially the assault rifles).
Why don't we reserve our analyses until next year, when the consoles aren't supply constrained?
“Interestingly, the PS4 is selling at twice the rate of Xbox One, which could indicate strong demand for Sony’s platform in markets [...] such as Europe and Australia.”
Um, no s***?! Sony is strong in Europe?!
Do these guys get paid for these so-called analyses?
DICE also said they were "aiming for the same resolution on both Xbox One and PS4," for Battlefield 4.
Look how that turned out.
PS3 = Convex. PS4 = Concave.
I prefer convex (dome) sticks any day of the week. Much better control and feel due to more surface contact with the thumb.
Still not to late to return/sell it...
Nothing to see here, folks.
