@The 10th Rider,

That is why I do not think the PS5 will come out until 2020. Plus Sony most likely will make a custom chip based on the AMD APU architecture, similar to what they accomplished with the PS4. The price I can't say but Sony will take a hit in profit the first few.

In all honesty, I do not think they should go with the double SKU at that low of a spec. 8k is right around the corner and it wouldn't be smart to try and not have any interest in it. I think the PS5 is going to go through the same lifecycle as the PS4. We are going to have a base system that supports 4K and then in 3-4 years, we will get an upgraded system that supports or somewhat supports 8k.

Going with a 1080p system is not dump idea, it's just not smart. The wa...

Good points, just wanted to say for BC, its guaranteed due to the chipset they are planning to use for the PS5. It is going to be similar to the PS4 unless they change their mind and go with something completely different. I need to find the article where it was stated the next PS will utilize a similar chipset to the PS4. Either way, we will have BC to the PS4 on the PS5 and maybe PSNow will continue to utilize PS3 games.

Just wondering, could it be the type of RAM MS is using (DDR). Sony seems to have a crush on GDDR type of RAM so I am assuming by the time the PS5 comes out we may be looking at GDDR6 or GDDR7.

The only issue with this piece is that the reports of the dev kits going out was recently reported in the last week or so, so if we add the 2 years until reveal that would be 2020. Other than that I agree with what must be included.

I honestly get what you are saying. When they first detailed these systems, I was confused at why they did not include a higher level CPU but then it dawned on me that if they did they would be considered next-generation consoles. This might be the reason why they chose to overclock their CPU and include better GPUs.

@#$% thats a lot of games and studios presenting. Is this turning into the new E3?

You meant to say is, right?

@kranker

You really missed the premise of that movie. It wasn't about the dead dog per-se, it was about the dog being the last connection to his wife. SMH, the game does look good, not worried but the interaction with the kid. another good looking game to add to the list.

to think, I was going to get this game, now I am not certain...ugh!!!

@Teflon02

Not certain why you are getting disagrees, but you are right. We all know why Sony cannot do BC, but some are playing like Sony has never said anything. Sony shot itself in the foot with going with these multiple design/system architecture and we as consumers have to pay the price for it, literally. MS choose the correct path since they designed the original Xbox. Yes they have good programmers, but the design of the architect has more to do with it than anything....

I agree with everyone's assessment, which most likely it will be 2019 to 2020 when we will see the PS5. I was just looking at the trend applied. It showed that each generation the PS has been out increased by 1 year.

I you look at that trend, wouldn't it be 2021?

No offense but how did this article get approved?

@Septic,

Maybe they should have said the friend that people tolerate but secretly do not like. You know the friend that gets on everyone nerves, leaches, steals, never reliable, always changing their story...you know that friend; but somehow they are still your friend.

While I agree with your statement, I am just wondering, and this is just a question I am not trying to go any direction with this, but wouldn't allowing cross play between all platforms cause a chance for more perpetual networks hacks across all three systems?

@shloobmm3

I agree 4K is moving along pretty well as we speak but, I know it was a rub, I highly doubt Nintendo actually thinks that way. It is better to say they took a conservative approach to reduce the cost of the tech in their hardware while keeping the price reasonable. The one good thing about going in this direction is that in a few years, two at max, they can release a 4k version of the Switch; at least that is what I am assuming.

@iDadio,

Ummm...isn't that what happened when Sony. For months before the system was announced and months after it was announced many kept throwing that narrative against Sony. But now that the shoe is on the other foot, suddenly it's ok; or they, MS, get a pass.

@Skull521

You may be new around here, but what the hell are you talking about. I can see your logic is dated as your using an old fanboy complaint about the PS4 that they only have Bloodborne. Just wow, mainly because Sony just released Uncharted 4 and Horizon: ZD and that is not including the various amounts of great exclusives released in between those two games. The sad part is that Sony has much more to release in between H: ZD and the release of GoW4. But yet you want...

I think that is false, I don't want it and I have a Pro.
