While better lightning engine as you stated is not very easy to implement light effect require significant hardware. Also the light effects seem to be better by using Hi-res specular textures.

You are definitely correct the texture lightining an atmosphere looks better in PS3 version and it is definitely looking better than 360 version. The reason behind this is that the NG2 sigma uses a much better texture compression technology which was not used in the NG2 and that has made the graphics better. Not only that you will find the loading times to be considerably shorter on PS3 and this is due the technology I mentioned, it doesn't has anything to do anything with the hardware.

people comparing GT5 to FOrza 3 when in the given article Turn 10 just themselves didnt compared it. They just said that theya re running out of improvement means that all the features they wanted to implemented in FOrza3 are well implemented no comparision to GT5. This much advancement in AI is too much for a game development studio. There might be some preprogramed sequences. Because only dynamic movement of an NGP with its own AI is some what impossible and it was infact said by BUngie that if that alone could be done it would be a breakthrough.

I knew it from the begining that MS would give good graphics actually the gfx are totally based on technology used and MS was more in hurry of creating of titles so most of its 1st party titles where just using extreme of last gen technology.

My friend I dont know about Uncharted 2, but ALAN WAKE look miles ahead of FarCry 2 and I still done know about open world but ALAN WAKE does have really huge levels and with that level of detail, its really looks great.
Looking racer but FOrza has its unique style of graphics and by the looks if they are not ahead of GT5 they arent much far behind.
Forza2 looked a last gen game in comparision to GT5 so I never said it was better than GT5 or even in the leauge, but with this level of visual fidelity @60 fps in Forza3 barriers of gfx are no more its upto gameplay now.
But they are using blur, also the cars are more realistic in Forza 3 than NFS:Shift. If you compares the cars only FOrza 3 has better looking car models. Also Forza does @60fps.
Also the circuit shown here (Laguna Seca) is the worst looking of all levels in FOrza 3. I dont know if Shift throws more geometry than FOrza 3, FM3 puts 200-250k polygons (thats same as GT5, Yes) per car as compared to 20-25k of Forza 2 but yeah Shift has much more blur and bloom to it which makes it loo...
