The best explanation I have ever heard concerning this matter.

Is it as good as I hear it is?

Oh, as someone who owned an original Xbox I am very upset to see where we are today versus yesterday. I myself am boycotting any Microsoft published exclusive until they release a new IP. Kinds sucks, I really wanted Halo 4.

I think it is because they don't want to feel left out. PC Gamers are so "Me too" most of the time...

That is because we are seeing a schism between something that exists as a "game" and something that exists as an experience. The emergence of something that is story focused and not difficulty driven; something to be finished as opposed to "beaten". Honestly, I don't see what the problem is, I enjoy both sets of offerings.

Tretton walks away with perhaps the thing I find most memorable this E3. In his closing comments he instructed the crowd to "Fight for the experiences that made them a gamer." In a time of motion controlled features and other gimmicks, this is what I really needed to hear. Believe it or not, it is true for all of us, regardless of console.

Will it be a PS2-PS3 leap? No. Will it be a PS1-PS2 leap? Probably.

As someone who owned an original Xbox, I beg to differ.

I agree completely. Chapter 18 "The Rub Al Khali" is the epitome of an interactive cinematic experience. The shot right after Drake sets out from the plane will always be with me, almost like seeing the Brachiosaurus in Jurassic Park for the first time. Just the view of Drake walking along the Sand Dunes with the camera pulled so far back and sweeping the enitre expanse was breath-taking, the best part being that it was interactive and controlled. It would have been no where near th...

You know, I always see Indiana Jones as a point of comparison for Uncharted, it is ironic due to the fact that Indiana Jones is itself a throw back to films of the 1940's that featured the adventure and the hero who seemingly established that DNA for Indy to use and then later Drake.

But I agree, Uncharted(more so with 3) created almost a new genre that went beyond a kind of "game" and created an experience. UC3 is my favorite of all the Uncharteds due to the ...

You know, I have been so distant to this whole thing. Both sides of the argument had pros and cons(creative freedom vs. fan's voice). It is the way it is, and honestly I want ME series to go on ice for a bit. BioWare could win back my love if they did a Jade Empire sequel and did it well.

You know, overall I was more impressed with the SquareEnix demo, yet the lighting of UE4 still shocks me. I think in terms of visuals, the detail and how things move are really where the ability to wow and improve can be found.

Contextual sensitivity =/= scripted moments. Honestly, contextual sensitivity is about as far as one can be from "scripted."

My, my, TLoU sounds as if it is almost creating a "digital performance" with Joel in terms of action, animation, and dialogue. These characters are ceasing to exist as 3D models cued up by code and instead are becoming almost digital actors in a sense, or rather yet actual characters.

Imagine the "Digital Perfor...

TLoU's Camera work is yet to be seen. TLoU has yet to prove it has moments like UC3 Chapter 18. I think they will really aim for two different spectrums. TloU doesn't need to, in any way "replace" UC3. Frankly they are going to be somewhat different. I doubt TLoU will be as grand or sweeping as UC3, nor should it be. It is a completely different story and narrative.

Better? Why better? Different experience in my honest opinion. Uncharted had the camera work, TLoU has the A.I. Love them both equally and don't try tp pick favorites.

No doubt in my mind that TLoU will be incredible(despite the fact that I'm not crazy about the health bar) and it is from ND. Win, win.
