I doubt Microsoft would agree to that, selling the game on competing systems is one thing, but using their software to directly promote a competing system is another.

They've changed it, now instead of just letting their subscribers have access to a monthly NES game like they had originally suggested, it's now kinda like EA Access but with a collection of NES games (Maybe SNES too) instead, with the added ability to now play these old games online.
It's up there, but isn't the best. It would had been better than Ocarina of Time had it not been for the time system hindering it.
It's still currently Nintendo's fastest selling console and they've doubled their production to get them out faster, the whole "artificial demand" theory just isn't holding water anymore.
It's close, but SNES for me. To me nothing on Genesis is quite as good as Super Mario World or A Link to the Past.

PS4 Pro is not just a PS4, this study just shows that more people are happy with the basic consoles and don't feel the need to shell out more money for a console that plays the same games with increased visuals and performance.
Neither have gotten a pass, there has also been a lot of people who have stated that Mario is being milked. You make it sound as if it's Nintendo fans making the claims that Halo is being milked, when Nintendo fans are use to seeing franchises go on and on, It's mostly the Playstation fans making these claims.
Sure in the past, but currently out of the big 3 I'd say they are the most consumer friendly and it's partly because they're still doing damage control over the bad pre-launch/launch of the Xbox One that still has some people soured over.

Sure, but an appraiser doesn't just make up the prices, they see what an item is currently being sold for and then give an estimation, some even use sites like eBay to estimate a price, either way many have valued certain sealed Zelda games at more than their original cost. And do the online markets not affect the value of merchandise sold elsewhere?

If you can't go by sales on sites like Ebay or Amazon to estimate the value of an item that is no longer being sold in retail, then what can you go by? I imagine it would be very difficult nowadays for a collector to go out and find a particular game that is still sealed, without using the web to find it.
And the person that bought No Man Sky for $2000, bought it because it was an early copy, that's a little different than buying something rare that's no longer ...

Except it's not just one person, you can sell a lot of older sealed Nintendo games easily on places like Ebay for it's original value or more.
Just about anything Zelda on the Gamecube that is sealed goes for more than what it ...

Zelda is not bigger than Mario, not even close. Mario games have consistently outsold Zelda games by a large margin since the beginning.

As for now it's doing good. Of course it doesn't mean that it will have long-term success, only time will tell, no one needs to read an article to know that.
Partly due to people like Laura Kate Dale and Emily Rogers who claimed they had inside information that said it was going to be a port.

The Xbox One is my main gaming console, but let's be real, the Xbox One doesn't offer many must have games that you can't already play on the PS4. Yeah there isn't much available on the Switch at the moment, but what is on the horizon is already looking to make for a better combination with the PS4.
