I think you're just overthinking it and maybe taking it a little bit personal because they're comparing it to the PS4, the article is merely comparing it in the same region and time frame to sales of Nintendo's last home console and the home console that is currently leading the market (PS4), if they were trying to make it look more attractive, then why would they mention that the Wii U outsold it within the same time frame? These numbers aren't very ...

So the Ps4 sales shouldn't matter because it's home console, but the Wii U should despite it also being a home console? That doesn't make much sense.

Kinda strawmanning there, but yes, whether you see it as a handheld or a home console, it can be played as a handheld regardless. that's the Switch's whole gimmick in case you haven't noticed.
We never moved away from them with handheld gaming. Nintendo has always used cartridges for their handhelds and Sony started using them with the Vita, what makes it different this time? The carts being bigger might have something to do with the price increase, but I can't see it costing them an extra $10 to make.
Have you played it? I picked up the digital version around launch and regretted buying it. It's short, dull and repetitive, the only thing it had going for it was having nice looking visuals for a console game at the time
We will finally get another Mega Man game, but it will be based on this show and it will be some generic side scroller that's dumbed-down so the kids that like the show can play it without it being too difficult for them.

Literally the first sentence of the article: "The latest Nintendo consoles are known for showing your in-game play time."
A 7 isn't too far off from what I'd give it, but it does seem a little odd that Jim gives a game like Hyrule Warrior Legends a near perfect 9.5, but BOTW a 7. He also gave The last Gaurdian and Halo 5 a 6.5, which seemed a little low to me. Sometimes it seems like Jim just likes to go against the flow a little.
I don't see why they wouldn't add support for Gamecube controllers like they did on the Wii U.
