Man I can only imagine what a modern take of Nosgoth would look like past and present. Have Blood Omen with D4 style top down graphics and Soul Reaver taking advantage of SSD and physical/spectral plain shifting with modern graphics and updated combat ,,,, drool :p Honestly they could condense soul reaver 1,2& defiance in to 1 game if they ever do a remake , make it a huge epic arpg
No.... next gen doesn't really start until the previous generation dies and they have a 10 year life cycle which officially ends this year . So technically the generation has just started and is barely at the 30% mark . Articles like these sound like the writer just came out of the womb and just start gaming in the last 10 years with no concept of time to reflect on.
Up until ps3/ps4 I remember for the most part up on console releases you'd have maybe a few games that you could get and most of them were really primitive until a few years in . Each Sony console is supported for at least a minimum of 10 years so it's only really 25% of its life cycle. Most of them really don't truly start to shine until 2-3 years in so I say Ps5 has barely gotten started . Only this year have most developers started to release non cross gen games. Things are about to get wild for the next 5+ years if history has proven true
They don't need the original people , they already have the foundation of characters ,world and lore to work off of.
Honestly it's not that big of a game if you really examine it by modern standards , it's how they present everything that makes it seem so grand especially with how epic the story/music is . SE have good writers that could incorporate post release lore of perfect works and such if they ever remade it from the ground up.
Envy for what?! Fallout in space lol , I never found fallout that interesting. I also boycotted ABK for like 15 years now , the buyout has no effect on me . Even as a FromSoftware fanboy I couldn't bring myself to buy sekiro. The only studio that MS bought that rubbed me the wrong way was Oblivion as I'm a Pillars of Eternity fan but in all honestly they probably needed MS as much as MS needed them as most of their games didn't have much backing or financial support

To be fair coming from playing FF 6 7 8 & 9 to playing 10 was such a weird experience back in the day . Don't get me wrong I adore FF10 and have more with the passage of time but back then I wouldn't have given it more then a 7. No open world , linear , some celestial weapons seemed almost impossible to get , trials are just bad, Seymour , Blitzball and a few other minor nitpicks.

They don't really need 10 years , they have bungie and marathon coming out soon. It being multiplatform could easily steal away some of the CoD and even Halo player base that really wanna play a new Bungie game. Both Halo and Destiny were both megahits for their time and I think it would be an insult to injury to both MS and Activ/Blizz if Marathon blows up , like being the #1 played game on xb lol

I think FFxvi is gonna lead cbu3 into making their next mainline FF game an action mmo tbh . If what I see in Chrono Odyssey is what gaming might progress to w/ Gfx and scale in the future I have no reason not to think this might be the direction they'll be going with . They have 4 main in house development teams , the only one I can think that might do it is CBU4 . CBU1 have FF7 and KH , CBU2 are working on DQ12 and CBU3 is working on FFXIV expansions as well as just wrapping up XVI . My guess is cbu3 will do ff 18 or 19
It's actually a really smart move . For people that enjoy physical it can elevate some worry if the drive every stops working . My first ps2 had that problem and my ps4 .. in the latter case I'm thankful for digital since I didn't have to buy a new console.
I bought FFXV cause I waited for FF versus 13 for 10 years and I'm pretty sure other people felt the same but the product I anticipated and the thing that I got were not even comparable . Honestly if it wasn't for FF7r and knowing Cbu3/YoshiP were in charge of it XVI (I do play ffxiv) I wouldn't have given 16 a shot. I like 16 from what I've played so far and it will probably have better longevity in sales and reputation throughout ps5s lifetime and beyond then 12/13 trilogy...
