Its called indie because they don't have a publisher. Limbo maybe not so much since I think that was funded by the danish government.
Well ultimately what it boils down to is whether you like these kinds of games or not. However, you clearly don't like these games so why bother posting on something directed at people who already know they like these kinds of games?
The fact remains however, that SC2 as it is, would not work on a console. So whether you consider it dumbing down or just altering it, it would not be the same game.
The statement "Is light years ahead" makes sense. Since it is a measure of distance. Most races use both time, and distance, to measure placement. So if something is light years ahead, its a great deal farther along.
Thank you, Im really sick of that being used as a term to mean quality.
I have it and love it. Its, in my opinion, finally a good Japanese take on a shooter. Its shallow for sure, but it great fun while being shallow.
Just got done with a game. Its like SC1 all over again... in a very, very good way. My goty also.
I wonder about that though. The first thing I thought when I played Vanquish was, "I wish this had multiplayer". Dont get me wrong I love the single player. But with a game as unique as it is, that is also a shooter, I can't help but want to fight against other human beings. I love the first gears, just like that mexican house. To me the game feels like Gears squared, and that makes me want the multiplayer so badly.
I can't think of any exact quotes, but I know I've read many positive quotes from his mouth about western development. Also the title is a bit misleading, hes talking about style, ie. Art. Level Design is generally used to describe feel and playability. Not so much visual.
Well, killzone is extremely desaturated. Just like gears, its the look they're going for. Also, and correct me if I wrong, but when a war breaks out the spectrum of visible light doesn't shrivel up like a cold ballsack.
Im not knocking either, I love every game mentioned thus far in the comment section.
Same for me! I can't get enough of Starcraft 2. Its like the original starcraft all over again... in the best way possible.
Ill never make the claim that I wont but activision games because they have blizzard joined up. If not for them, I don't even think I'd have to try to not purchase their games.
One thing that is extremely lame is the auto-boot option people get for even one betrayal.
I was playing a Sniper Match on Countdown. Normally not my best game mode (or map even) but for some reason this time I was tearing it up. I think I was 17-3 when a foolish teammate (who was a whiny teenager no less) strafs in front of me during a shootout. I blow his head off by accident. This is my first betrayal, and he boots me. One betrayal should never be grounds for booting. Ive...
Also, I'd be curious what bands you do like? And not to start a lame flame war, just curious.
Yeah I don't get it. I like 30 seconds to Mars quite a bit. I understand if people think they look emo, but I think a lot of people are selling themselves short if they care to much about how a band dresses / look.
Well thats the problem. Because Uncharted 2 wasn't original. Im not saying MW2 was, but what this means is, I don't think originality should ever be taken into account. I loved uncharted. Not because it was original, but because it was a great experience.
Honestly, how often does one find themselves playing a great game and enjoying themselves only to realize the game doesn't do anything new, resulting in them disliking the game? I'd say damn well near never. ...
I always say I just don't like JRPG's, since I don't play them much. But really, and as people are pointing out on here, I just don't like the bad ones, and finding good ones is getting tougher and tougher.
I like backtracking when its done well. If done successfully it can actually act as a means of showing progression. The prime games are a great example of this. The first 3 halos method of backtracking however is a whole different matter... thats just terrible. Kudos to Bungie for finally fixing this for Reach. Not surprisingly Reach was my favorite single player experience of the halos.
Thats an excellent photoshop job lol
I liked the first gothic at the time. Not a ton mind you, but I thought it was a decent game. Haven't touched anything since however.
