Some of it has to do with online play being bigger now, too. You don't need to make the campaign as long when you can hook them on the multiplayer. Resources have to go into ensuring it's all balanced online and isn't broken. Developmental complexity is at an all time high now. It's not as easy as it once was. Considering how resources have gone up, it's kind of amazing that the price of a new game has only increased ten dollars since the NES era.
Bringing up lossless compression is really kind of pointless as it is actually never used in practice.

WiiWare's file size restrictions prevent it. They don't believe it's the right material for a disc. SFII:HD wouldn't even work if downgraded to 480P.

How is that a contradiction? Those statements are in agreement with each other. It's because they're finishing the PS3 version BEFORE they move onto the 360 version that they wouldn't be delaying/canceling the PS3 version.

I agree that MS should focus more on their console. But the fact is they are focusing more on hurting Sony. The GTAIV DLC (yeah, using that again) is a good example of that. 50 million could have been used for a brand new game. I would have thought that would've made more sense than using it for DLC.
