I've never bought, and never will

I said that this might happen after they did so well with Spiderman. If this game turns out to be as successful then we'll continue to see more Marvel games as Playstation exclusives.

The SSD is fast enough to load assets in real time, so as the player turns around the scene is loaded from the SSD. Because of that you can make full use of available RAM, which means things such as much more detail and draw distance are possible as you aren't wasting space on stuff that isn't currently visible.

But the game needs to be designed with this in mind.

I think it was a pre-emptive move before someone makes a connection between the two.

They didn't measure the heat, they measured the temperature. Heat and Temperature are NOT the same thing.

well maybe. A more efficient cooling system will move more heat. But temperature does not equal heat. A higher volume of lower temperature air could be moving more heat than a low volume higher temperature air flow. just measuring the temperature of the exhaust flow doesn't tell you much.

Yup, HFW is the only one I care about from that list

@Jay767

it wouldn't matter if Microsoft pulled out of gaming, it's not like they would just shut it all down. They would sell it and one of Google/Facebook/Amazon/Apple would surely buy it.

Actually I expect switch to continue to decline, they were already down 22% this past quarter. Most parents have already bought all the electronic baby sitters they need now that most kids are heading back to school.

The other two are more uncertain, will their supply have caught up to demand by then? If so then we will finally see what the true demand is.

Everyone got a lift from the pandemic, we'll need to wait a year to see what the real situation is really like.

This reviewer sounds like he's the mayor of stupid town

When tabulating an overall score it should handled similarly to many judged sports. Drop the top and bottom scores from the total. In this case maybe ignore the top and bottom 5% of all reviews. That will eliminate most of the blatant haters and fanboys and give you something closer to reality

If the end to end throughput of the add-on SSD can't at least match that of the internal SSD then it will hold you back. Even R&C isn't pushing it to it's max yet, but eventually we will have games that do.

It would be stupid to lower the price as long as sales are strong and production capacity is limited

1029d ago 5 agree1 disagreeView comment

The problem will hit you in the future when more games are taking full advantage of the PS5's SSD performance. And it's not about loading speed.

Sure it's cool, but using a microphone to tune the system is obvious. I did some work on 3D audio about 15 years ago and was doing something similar, and I was not at all the first to do so

@Army_of_Darkness

Over the last 40 years every drive I've ever had fail was a Seagate. And that includes about a decade over which I owned a custom PC business and sold hundreds of drives.

But these are SSDs, so their hard drive reliability isn't really relavent here

1033d ago 13 agree0 disagreeView comment

Not surprising really, this is a standard calibration technique for AV receivers, only they typically use a wired microphone

This months shipped numbers are next months sold numbers so it doesn't really matter. Sure channel stuffing can inflate things, but it doesn't last, if they aren't selling then eventually you can't stuff any more into the wholesalers and retailers warehouses.
