There was a copy of one of the games in this series at my local library. It looked cheesy so I passed it up.

Shenmue along with Jet Set Radio are two of the most underappreciated game series in history. Heck I only bought an Xbox to play Shenmue II!

Great to see I'm not the only one that despises GameStop!

The first real Fps I got into was Half Life, so I guess I'd have to go with that one.

I personally think Killzone 2 is a great game, but it wouldn't convince me to buy a PS3. I haven't played Halo 3, but I had as much fun playing the first Halo as I had playing Killzone 2. The graphics on the game are amazing, but the gameplay while tight and fun, is not fundamentally better than Halo or Call of Duty in my opinion.

Understand this is my opinion, and I'm not a huge fan of fps to begin with.

The one thing I agree with the most is the recycled voice actors. It certainly got old hearing the same four voice actors doing every single npc in the game. I think they should also include a more robust crafting system.

Speaking of Bethesda related games I loved the map feature in Morrowind that gradually filled in with color as you traversed the world. That sort of gave me an incentive to find everything and fill in the whole map. I never did though. lol.

Looks just like the original. Cool though.

Yeah the title is a bit hyperbolic, but the fact is MS has done a good job of attracting JP publishers to its system. That wasn't happening in the last gen. I honestly think Microsoft is satisfied with how they've performed so far in Japan. They knew it was a tough market to crack going in, yet they've hung in there and sold a million. Good Job!

I think both games are great. Mass Effect features amazing dialogue and an engrossing story. Fallout 3 gives you a more freeform make your own story experience.

I'm probably sounding like a broken record here, but where is the gameplay footage? The setting and main character sounds interesting, but what makes this an rpg? Up to this point all we've seen is cutscene footage with little to no action.

I believe you're absolutely right. The way people play games in Japan and the rest of the world is largely different. The gameplay is really nothing special, its just the intimacy of playing with their friends that is appealing.

All the points he makes are valid. The only thing holding Sony back at this point is the price of the unit.

I think both games look great. Infamous looks more polished and controlled, Prototype gives you raw power and an enormous playground in which to demonstrate that power. Given that, I'll probably enjoy the games for different reasons. I will most likely end up playing both unless they end up being a technical mess i.e. glitches, stuttering framerate.

So it's a PvP arena style game? I don't know about this one.

The first was okay but suffered immensely from slowdown during longer combos, with so many enemies on screen. The levels were very repetitive and if you happened to die, which could happen easily against some of the bosses, you had to start from the very beginning. If they had added a checkpoint system, it would have been better.

Say what you want, but the flagship franchises from this company have not yet seen a new release, i.e. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. I think the long delay in releasing these games is hurting their reputation in the long run, not these "alright but not great" games. They've been making these types of games since long before the merger. Besides the only franchise that had anything to prove was Star Ocean and it scored about as well as its predecessors.

Edit: The World...

I can honestly say I'm not one of those gamers. I tend to play games with higher review scores first, but when those are not available, I'll dig into some other games that didn't rate stellar marks. Bottom line is if the game is fun. If it isn't then there is no point in playing it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is coming to the PS3. Sony made a deal with NCsoft, and Blade and Soul looks like an MMO that could truly work well with a controller.

Was there a release date given in the feature?

Given Ubisoft's past track record, this game will probably hit around Christmastime. Hopefully this Christmas.
