That's because Nintendo starved the Wii U of games for almost 2 years just so the Switch could have one really solid year. Sony on the other hand supported PS3 right up till then end releasing Last of Us just a few months before the PS4 launched.
Probably more than you'd think. I've had a PS4 since launch and I don't have PS+. I only like single player games and couch coop so I never play online.
Sony will show something new. It was obvious they were holding back at PSX to have more to show at E3 (after the backlash they got at E3 2017).
If Pokemon Switch isn’t at E3 I’ll be pretty disappointed.
The 3DS is 9 years old. At this point Nintendo shouldn't be releasing any exclusives for the 3DS. Anything they release for the 3DS should also come to the Switch otherwise they're just hurting themselves. For example Metroid Samus Returns, the Mario Party minigame collection and the new wario ware should have all been ported to Switch.
I'd be up for a Super Mario 3D World port or sequel on Switch. If they wanted to make the 3D world games the new B-line, cheaper to make Mario games (instead of 2d New Super Marios Bros) that would be just fine by me.
Last of Us 2 seems more likely for the PS5 launch to me (simultaneous release on PS4) with Horizon 2 maybe coming at the end of the first year.
I agree with everything in this list. For me what I want in a console Pokemon more than anything (and what we probably won't get) is for pokemon to be living and interactive in the overworld. Basically Monster Hunter World meets Witcher 3 but with Pokemon. I want to be able to get a tip about a Charmander burning crops outside of town then track him down and catch him. Things that make the world feel lived in.
I think Kirby and Yoshi are just in need of reinvention. Kirby's tough because he's basically the Superman of the Nintendo universe. He's so OP that it's hard to make him interesting to play. His games are so easy to beat because they're aimed at children and I think that's part of the problem. Games like Mario Odyssey appeal to kids and adults because they don't pander to either. They have easy parts and hard parts and they give you the option to pursue or ignore ...
I wouldn't mind DS Chrono Trigger on Switch.
Zelda was a good game but the confidence with which every site seems to pick it as #1 game of the year makes me feel like I'm taking crazy pills as I much preferred Mario Odyssey.
Really hoping for Smash this year.
If Net Neutrality is repealed then expect to see ISPs doing mob level shake downs of companies like Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, Google, Hulu, etc. "You got a nice website here. Gets a lot of traffic. Not a lot of buffering. It would be a shame if something happened to it. You pay up and we'll make sure things keep running smooth."
And then Netflix, Hulu, Twitch, etc pass those extortion costs on to us the customer so now we're paying double for everything ju...
For those who didn't click: Easy Allies said in a podcast that they think they read/heard in the game informer interview with Game Freak (from months ago) that Game Freak plans to change up the formula to Pokemon after the success of BotW and the positive reaction to Odyssey at E3.
It's basically a rumor of a rumor.
Probably the biggest gap I've experienced between critical review and my own reaction was Dragon Age Inquisition. It won a bunch of game of the year awards and was almost a 90% on metacritic(PS4 at least) but when I played it it was so disappointing and bland. The combat wasn't satisfying and the story just didn't live up to past Bioware games.
@InTheZoneAC Because I assume the younger staff members will migrate over to help with Pokemon Switch (now with more experience) after they finish Ultra Sun/Moon.
This list is terrible. You forgot Ryse!
"Super Mario Sunshine was the best 3D Mario title all the way up until Super Mario 3D World decided to be one of the best games since the turn of the century. And now it is even serving as inspiration for the highly anticipated Mario Odyssey."
Ooooooh it's a satire article.
It's great that the Switch is getting ports of these games though personally I'm more interested in seeing Nintendo/Third party collaborations like Mario + Rabbids. I'd be down for a Telltale Mario or Metroid game.
But if it comes out tomorrow, think about how cheap it'll be in 3-4 years!
