The second that music started I got a serious nostalgia rush. I remember Christmas 1996, running around the castle in astonishment for an hour. Just jumping and climbing trees because I'd never experienced 3d controls like that before. Then when I realized you could go IN to the pictures... My 6 year old life was never the same.

My only concern is that since Nintendo is being so slow with the price drops that by the time it hits 200$ their next console will almost be out and if it's backwards compatible then there'll be little reason to buy the Wii U.
A hunting/crafting system could be cool. You can forge parts you scrounge from enemies into weapons and armor. Manufacture better arrows, stronger bombs, etc.
It would be cool if you could grapple or grab your opponents. Like if you're in a fight with a bunch of Dekus, you can pick one up and use him as a shield while also using his projectiles to take out the other enemies.
I'm hoping Mario Party finally finds its footing again. It has been a mixed bag for years.
This was announced weeks ago. The good news is the price at release was dropped to 19.99 instead of the usual 39.99. That's 20 bucks you could put toward a new memory card if you wanted. Though PS Vita memory cards are still outrageously overpriced.

I took a look at the Wii U software list and over 40% of the games were cross platform. Sure that's probably considerably less than the other consoles but i wouldn't call it "almost no multi-plat support". This percentage will probably lower as the generation goes on but Nintendo knew that going in when they released the Wii U.
Funny how forgiving they were of MCC in it's buggy completed state compared to when they wrote an article crapping all over a PRE-ALPHA demo of Uncharted 4.

The wii u has been out almost twice as long as the PS4 and XBONE and only has about 50 more games than each? Comparitively that's not a lot man especially since most people considered 2014 a slow year for PS4 and Xbone. Even if those consoles continued this slow place (which is extremely unlikely looking at their 2015 line up), they will have eclipsed Nintendo by the end of the year by about 800 each to 675.
Seeing how great the Wii U models are, it seems like only one console generation more before they've reached the height of how good they can possibly look (at least in their current art style). Higher poly counts, individual hairs for certain characters and more detailed textures. My guess once they've hit that ceiling they'll just start expanding the levels and player counts (they've already started). Maybe throw in level destruction physics for good measure. Whatever they do...
i HAVE started killing a lot more orcs in real life since I started playing Shadow of Mordor.
At least EA gave out three free games recently.
