Talk about a domino effect. This getting delayed because of the film and the film getting delayed because there’s not enough people going to the cinema because of COVID.
Probably because people complained that they wouldn’t pay full whack for games that take 5-6 hours to complete, so now developers are cramming in more content, possibly at the expense of quality. You reap what you sow.
The article feels like an overgeneralisation through. There’s still plenty of short games out there, but they’re generally not AAA.

Seems pretty short for an annual games showcase.
Glad no one is defending this, having to purchase games twice should be a thing of the past by now.
Difference is that sucker punch is a subsidiary and therefore likely had way more of a budget that a independent studio like bloober. But fair enough if you want to carry on believing your Xbox fanboy dev conspiracy theories.
Agreed, played it at launch and will definitely play through it again. Hope PS5 players like it.
What sort of track record does Sony have with horror games? Siren? From a studio that has now closed? Think you’re being very generous claiming that they ‘nurture’ franchises.
A lot of people don’t like simulators or racing games - nice generalisation there. A lot of people don’t like action adventure games either. The point is that there’s something got everyone out there.
I know… that’s the point I was making. Wow if my attempt was poor them yours was shocking.
Mate you’ve just gone on for 7 paragraphs of desperate insecure drivel. How long did it take you to write that? Doesn’t change the fact that they’ve drawn a blank this summer showing anything meaningful and Microsoft has. Just take the L and move on.
I was gunna say, surely that includes war zone.
Come off it mate, if the shoe was on the other foot then people would be fuming if Xbox didn’t have a showcase (myself included), so why should Sony get a free pass?
It’s all well and good having 25 games in development but you’re 6 months into a console lifecycle and you’ve got no games to show? That’s poor marketing no matter how you want to spin it.
Us as in PS fanboys right? Cause you don’t speak for the entire gaming community.
Errr, E3? Microsoft had a great showcase and Sony had nothing. So yeah, again.
True but not having a summer showcase of any kind is pretty bad. I get it, we’re in unprecedented times but outside of the hardcore fans, it’s going to start swaying people.
Just shows how far off track the game was before the delay last year. It’s not the end of the world but a big part of Halo campaigns are the coop.
It’ll always have that stigma given the state the game launched in, but now there’s so much more content. Great to see it’s had legs, I went back to it recently for a pirates life.
Better they identified it now before it went live than releasing it in a broken/unplayable form surely?
The game is beautiful regardless of the platform. Second only to Uncharted/Last of Us 2 graphically for me.
Good one.
