I would bet that it fell so fast b/c they released the new SKU with the HDMI. Notice that they're #20 and #21 right now. Wait and see if the HDMI version goes back up to the top ten...

Someone said that HD DVD was beating Blu-ray? Was this a comment from 2006 when Blu-ray wasn't out yet? I love my HD DVD player, but I would never claim that it's winning right now...that's kinda silly.

The HD DVD version did get some extra features. It has the in movie experience thing that shows you the movie before the CGI was added. It's really quite interesting. I heard that they are going to re-release it on Blu-ray with this once they get the Java stuff straightened out. It's not worth buying it again, but it's worth renting to see it once it comes out.

Agreed. I picked up the HD DVD version and it's certainly a must for anyone with either high-def format. The intentional grain of the movie was well preserved, and it's just a fun action movie.

Edit: To my disagreers: I'm sorry...my mistake. It's a crappy movie on HD DVD, but great on Blu-ray. HD DVD is dead and worthless and people are stupid for wasting their money on it. PS3 / Blu-ray FTW!! Now will you click agree instead? :)

Yeah, this site tends to be more about flamewars than news.

I highly recommend it. I had the time of my life in Blacksburg. It's a great school and a truly great college town.

Oh yea, and academically it's pretty good too. :)

Considering the Blu-ray : HD DVD ratio has been 2:1 for a while now, that seems perfectly logical. Did anyone not expect this?

One more...the PS3's cut was twice as much as the 360's.

Am I crazy, or did the PS3 version of this get approved yet the 360 and Wii articles sit in pending with a bunch of reports?

Yeah, I try to keep my bombs until I get to the higher multipliers, but it just doesn't seem to be enough. I survived to 975,000 once...I was so frustrated that I quit playing and haven't touched it since. I still got my money's worth though.

Geometry Wars was the best $5 I ever spent. I've played that game into the ground...unfortunately I'm still missing that "Survive 1,000,000" achievement. I can't wait for the sequel!

I think MS would have been much better off if they would just come out and state officially that some boxes have a design flaw, it's been fixed, and that they will fix the flawed ones for free. If they would just do that, people would probably drop the issue. Well, not Sony fanatics, but others would drop the issue. :) Every time they dodge a question about it their reputation goes down.

It's funny, the Amazon top 100 is actually good for HD DVD right now. They have 5 movies in the top 100 (300, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Bourne Identity, Planet Earth) while Blu-ray has 3 (300, Planet Earth, Fifth Element). The movies on both formats are selling a little better on Blu-ray, but not by a huge margin.

Not technically, but it would be tough to complete that game in one sitting with no way to save it. :) It needs at least a memory card, but the HD isn't required.

You really think MS would turn down MGS over the hard drive issue? I'm sure they're pretty strict about it, but I have a feeling some huge game down the line is going to require it, and MS will have to give in.

I thought he said that they would "push back" against the developers, not that they wouldn't do business with them. I have to believe that if they said they would put Metal Gear Solid on the 360 if it could require a HD, Microsoft would agree to their terms. :)

I do love my 360, but I think the lack of a standard hard drive was a poor choice on their part. The Xbox had it, why would they go backwards? I think there are valid arguments on both sides over their decision to go with DVD instead of HD DVD or Blu-ray, but I don't see the argument for no hard drive.

Couldn't agree with you more. The approval system is badly abused by fans of both systems. The admins on this site need to figure out a better system, because the forum posts (in this case, a BROKEN link to a forum post) just aren't reliable...or news.

That's too bad...I picked it up on HD DVD today at Best Buy and they had TONS of copies on both formats. I had to stop ordering from Amazon b/c that kept happening.
