The reason the PS3 doesn't have cross game chat is due to the system resources (RAM, CPU) it may use. Because of the way games are published on consoles, they couldn't add it in later as it would not be possible while playing some games and the publishers don't like that (it may make their game seem worse than another, because it needs like 1MB more RAM sometimes and cross game chat wouldn't be available. Also, I'm not entirely sure how the memory is divided but many games...
I'll never ever pay for XBL ever again, as long as that remains a requirement for online multiplayer on MS consoles, I won't be buying them.
Vita will keep dropping in price throughout the PS4's lifetime, it could easily take the place as the screened-controller for games that make use of that. They don't really need a new controller, but who am I to say what Sony will do.
In other news... Nintendo, please make a Pokémon MMO with the Pokédex on the controller ^_^
Cookie-cutter boss fights instantly make a game bad in my eyes. Along with poor combat in general... it seems like they didn't bother with those important parts because it will sell just because it's called DMC (despite offending much of the hardcore fanbase, that always happens with capcom games yet many fans still buy them). Ninja Theory are a good developer though.
Or for fans: 1/10
No doubt it's a good game though. I just don't like the way they need the franchise name to be able to sell, that is what causes problems in the fanbase. If it was essentially the same but not called DMC, the studio would go bust.
I'd say there is a small possibility of the PS4 appearing in Japan this year. Other than that, the current consoles are still making money so... it makes no business sense to go ahead with the next gen just yet (it's game sales that matter).
The technology is a big factor too, and both parties (MS and Sony) might have access to developments from different partners (such as how the 360 had unified shaders and PS3 had Cell, if nVidia had unified shaders sorted out PS3 w...
The price of Vita is going to keep dropping throughout the PS4's lifetime so it'll be easily affordable for people who want it just for the 2nd screen while playing PS4 games.
Why would Sony make something almost identical to the Vita as a controller for the PS3 when there is already Vita? It makes no sense whatsoever. People will use their Vita for a 2nd screen if they want, other people won't care for a 2nd screen.
Nicely written article but no logic or ...
It's a distributed system. Problems won't be universal. If one account server goes down, a lot of people won't be able to use the service but many others will (that would be simplifying things, but I am making an assumption as to how they networked their servers so it's easy to explain)
Saying things like "all fine here", has literally no value whatsoever.
I'd be willing to pay more for a console with good titles at launch, it is about the games after all. This is more likely to concern Sony's platform it seems, if MS want to attract the niche early adoptors - they are going to need to keep on top of good franchises for the nextbox and I can't really see any that I am still interested in under their control. Their other option is to go casual, or take a larger loss at the start of the gen then build up exclusives a little slower. (t...
Activison... nobody cares.
Nobody knows yet if MS's next console is going to be targeting casuals. (this likely will be the case)
So it's impossible to speculate properly on the PS4's price point.
The microphone is the most useful thing offered by Kinect afterall.
If you hate the length of console generations, don't buy a console. It's only going to get longer.
That's an interesting thought. Consoles already work almost like that though, when you buy a game you are paying a little bit to whoever's console it is on.
Retailers can sell things on finance anyway though, it's not really Sony's concern.
Logic, it isn't being delayed. Your # of agrees proves how stupid people on this site are. (not about FUSE being in competition, obviously you are correct there)
GTA5
Total bullshit. That IS the launch date.
The gunplay and driving in FC2 felt like shit. That pretty much condemned it for me regardless of anything else in the game.
If you're going to make a shooter with driving, at least get those 2 components right.
Sounds like you should be gaming on PC.
But in all fairness. It's a massive risk for developers to launch new IP on consoles these days.
Unlikely, but there's a possibility the "Steambox" will make quite a big impact. That's more likely in 2014 or later though. I mean, it takes the good side of PC gaming and combines it with the good side of console gaming, the only thing that will be missing is Sony/MS/Nint exclusives. And the multiplats will be cheaper, often far cheaper...
