“And remember, not a single one of them are on the PS5 AAA game's level.”
You mean like Forspoken, right? Probably a good thing to not be on the same level as that game 🙄
“Imagine being hyped to not support your hobby”
1. GP is not free. So he is supporting his hobby
2. Developers are paid when their games are put in GP.
PS+ base tier is basically essential (no pun intended) though, I can’t imagine playing without cloud saves - and a lot of folk want online too.
PC/Steam has always been better value than console - but subscription services provide good value so you can’t really fault people for liking them.
Thanks to SteamDeck, I now see PC as an extension of my PS5 though - my portable PlayStation.
So it would be nice if at least first party game progress would sync between them. If that meant installing a PS launcher and/or signing in with my PSN account, I would be fine with that requirement.
Multiple major advantages, off the top of my head:
- day 1 releases
- supports PC
- cross platform progression
- cross platform multiplayer
And I likely missed a bunch.
Sony should at least allow progression between PC and PS5 on their own games, regardless of PS+ coming to PC.
"Don't care what metacritic says"
You might not - but you aren't the one picking the GOTY 😉
I'll never really understand (or agree with) the push to get people back into offices. Yes, the start of COVID was bumpy and a lot of games were delayed as studios transitioned to remote work, which required IT infrastructure changes etc. But it's now under control, and the industry hasn't burnt to the ground.
So just let people remote work, consider it a perk for your staff, and then you get to save on real estate, utilities & facilities costs.
No chance. A 79 game cannot be a GOTY contender.
Especially not in a year where Starfield, SM2 and Zelda all release - plus we already have a bunch of games higher rated than this.
Really can't wait for this to come out. Capcom really are the kings of remakes as of late.
@Hyper If that's what he meant, it's kinda embarrassing for Sierra, because it means Sierra is championing two products of which he doesn't even know the release date of...
Huh? Why would he be calling in sick because of a video game review?
"The only question mark is whether the VR headset will get exclusive games to support it longterm."
That's where VR becomes a vicious cycle though. For most companies, it's not worth making an exclusive for a device with so few users, but similarly the users only come if there are good games.
Realistically, Sony would need to fund a bunch of big exclusive experiences, and that didn't happen with PSVR1 and doesn't seem to be happe...
"I've seen 2 reviewers say this is VR's Mario 64 moment and another one said Horizon is up there with Half life Alyx"
Both of those are 90+ games. This is sitting at 79.
That doesn't mean it's a bad game, but it's no Mario 64 or HL Alyx.
And more revival of the IPs they've let rot. Like Splinter Cell. A proper revival, not some action focused shooter.
I have a feeling the "A Lot of Things to Show" will all be similar open-world quest-based games with different paint on top :P
Simply put, no. If anything, it's the other way around. Diablo is the bigger game.
Heck, just look at the sales. FF15 sold 10m in 6 years. D3 did 30m in 3 years. and FF16 is coming to even less platforms than FF15.
@darkrider "How many games Sony made a deal with Bethesda before Microsoft wrote the check...."
That's how business works. Nothing stopped Sony cutting a check as they have done to acquire many other developers.
Please show me where I said that. I guess reading comprehension isn’t your strong point.
