Agreed. E3 or (if development is going too slow) Tokyo Game Show will be where they'll unveil the game's actual looks.
I also like this image, but was thrown off by how one of the two characters seems to holster what seems to be his weapon behind his legs (in a style very similar to Lightning in Final Fantasy XIII).
I find the artwork reminiscent of Final Fantasy XII, actually. With an emphasis on that game's concept art rather than the final game.
Video & Arcade Top 10 wasn't exactly behind the curve in terms of being up to date with games. They had some games on launch week, like Mega Man 7 and Blast Corps.
Biggest problem was the format, though. It was a mess of a show that originally started out as a straight-up competition and ended up being more about promoting anything else while the kids were playing, then getting the results 10 minutes later with next to game footage shown.
They've moved on to online broadcasting now. In fact, I like it better that way: Why pay for a Cable TV channel when I can catch their recording sessions live and their podcasts, all for free?
I even put Gametrailers above X-Play these days, if only because I don't have to pay a specific monthly fee for their video game previews and trailers.
I see a serious lack of Mega Man Legends 3 in there. Then there's the lack of a full English release of Shining Force 3.
Yeah, but all of the best grind points in the game are completely devoid of other enemies (which makes them great grind points in that you can farm them easily and with no hassle/random factor).
After five generations of adding complexity to the actual Pokemon like IVs and EVs as well as practically tripling the amount of techniques, it's pretty much time to move to six moves. Lower the amount of PP if that's what's needed to make people stop whining, but PLEASE add some variety.
Besides, it's not like the interface is cluttered on a single screen anymore. The size of the attack buttons on the DS is just plain ridiculous compared to whatever else they could be using th...
Keep in mind that even Capcom had an insanely rough time with Monster Hunter. Unlike MH, WKC actually has a continued story through the supposed trilogy the game will have.
I can still see them localizing the second game. Most especially if Georama nets Sony a lot of money (most stuff is $2 to $4 in the real-money store and I've seen a LOT of people with bought Georama content).
Pretty sure most Monster Hunter titles are pay-to-play for the online portion in Japan. Then again, I'm also pretty sure Frontier is online-only, compared to all other releases.
Considering how all games are related, timeline-wise the sequel to Suikoden 2 is Suikoden 3. Suikoden 4 and 5 are prequels.
Then again, Australia is renowned for banning ultraviolent media far more than hyper-sexual content. It might just be Heavy Rain's saving grace that the most offending parts are likely the nudity and not gore.
My personal highlight is the Lunar: Silver Star Harmony demo. I already preordered the game, though...
You're forgetting that Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G sold well over 1.5 million copies in that same timeframe for a game that was a simple expansion of a game that came out just one year prior. For a PSP game, that's a gigantic amount of copies compared to a full new game developed on the Wii.
That's a hermaphrodite. In your whole paragraph of text you failed to even identify the right sexual fantasy the game is pandering to.
Just FYI: The guy who played Desmond in AC/ACII is actually the same guy who plays Nathan Drake in Uncharted and The Prince in the cell-shaded Prince of Persia game of 2008.
Nolan North FTW.
What is actually of more importance isn't sell-through or attach rates: It's return on investment. If sell-through wasn't even set high enough for good ROI (as in, they'll print more if there's demand), 80% sales of the initial batch might not have been enough for the game in the first place.
When you have actual Hollywood actors and need to license tons of metal music, I don't see how the ROI for 600K sales could beat 600K sales for the development of a game with equivalent dev...
They actually had Jack Black going on late night shows and entertainment news shows to promote the game. Problem is, the demographic of people who WOULD buy this game don't watch either.
In all fairness, you guys should read Bear McCreary's blog (the person who does the game's soundtrack).
Dark Void has NOT been in development for 20 years, they're just trying to rope in old-school Capcom fans by creating this fake backstory to the game. All for the better, since it seems to have convinced more than one person that this whole thing is true...
Dark Void Zero is the product of 2009's April Fool's Day joke on Capcom Unity, where Bear McCreary wanted to...
Absolutely great news. Both Oddworld games are definitely going to be mainstays on my PS3 and PSP.
I'm sure others have noticed by now, but the character on the right looks armored in the same fashion as the Mercenary concept art. The character on the left also seems to match the design of the girl in the logo.
What strikes me most is how this scene seems to mirror others that were seen in Final Fantasy Tactics. I got a distinct Delita & Ovelia vibe from the positioning.
