Agreed, I think people still prefer the bar/pub, going out for a meal during there evenings etc.
Shawn layden has already stated it's been stagnant for everyone.
I think the main problem is 100 games a year releasing with casuals only buying 2 games a year and not being interested in many genres.
I personally like lots of games and buy 1 full price game every month and either a 3rd party or indie game too, but the casual is just playing Fortnite most of the year...
I'm Pro playstation as many on here know but laden and Andrew's both said the same.
Or just play the game, I never get this buy cosmetic shit. I couldn't care less about desert strom camouflage or playing as snoop dog etc.
Several years in ? We're in the 4th but I get some of your points.
"We've heard the crowd" translates to Xbox fans would have been mega pi**ed at Xbox with playstation and Nintendo getting physical versions.
Nothing to do with we've heard the crowd BS.
Unfortunately dev costs of 300m plus is what happened to new IP overall.
I'd love some new ones but at the same time I scratch my head at the losses if it doesn't sell well etc.
It must be so daunting day 1 of a new IP project knowing what's at stake.
When Cory cried at early reviews of GoW there was such an outburst of emotion, must be hell having that mush pressure etc.
I somewhat agree, but let's be honest we like our SP mainly.
Plus we're a quite bunch online on the mics me included but yep some cream MP games would be nice too for more variety and keep themselves relevent in that space also.
Was there every any doubt
He's just waiting until the end of the gen and let the next guy or gal take the 3rd party fall.
He will 100% step down and take the cheap way out and pretend he left not knowing there going full 3rd party.
And "anywhere"
I think you need to listen to it again
Looks absolute bonkers
Phil is just passing the days until he steps down at the end of the gen imo. He will leave the new guy to give the message all games are coming to other consoles so he doesn't get remembered for it.
NOT exactly gonna shit out AAA games with some of the Devs only releasing there current IP a year or 2 ago.
It takes 5 years to make these games, it's not rocket science.
I think from the leaked documents Spiderman made about 50 million from physical sales but roughly 400m from digital sales.
Something like that can't remember the full story.
It's literally why they want to go all digital because the money is shit loads more than physical sales.
Pandemic didn't help and I'm sure timelines and GaaS didn't help either.
I'm guessing a few factors at play, also it takes 5 years to make a AAA game so always gonna have a dry period when timelines sometimes don't add up.
It's not rocket science it just takes a long time and there is ONLY so many AAA employees out there to make these games.
So all "little devil inside" Devs had to do was put a content warning at the start of the game instead of delaying it 3 years and changing things.
Agreed can't remember anything offensive but disagree bring the 80s and 90s back, people cared for each other way more then I reckon compared to today.
Not all MP games continue to do well, just like SP games don't always hit.
Out of every 10 MP games maybe ONLY 3 are successful let's be honest.
