The source material is like 20 years old? and those assets were probably made in 480p. Unless you're going to use AI to make the textures better or remake them manually, it doesn't matter if the game is 1080p, 4K or 16K. If the source material is garbage (for todays standards), then it doesn't matter what resolution you bump it to, it's still going to look garbage.. perhaps even more so.
Bethesda Game Studios have nothing to prove either. All of their games for the last 25 years have had metas of 85+.. maybe even higher on average than ND over the same period.

If this released during the PS2 era (where exclusives released on PS2/Gamecube/Xbox weekly) it would have been forgotten. But these days, "console exclusives" get bigged up so much because they are so rare (like, two or three or year) that they become mythical status even if they aren't that great.

My memory of this game was that the gunplay was the best I've experienced. I've not seen a single person ever mention this so it's probably just me.
