@Sonic1881 - calling it a walking simulator (like many other Sony fanboys or Xbox fanboys who call Death Stranding a walking simulator),makes me think that most people dont know what a walking simulator is (which happens to be one of my favorite game genres).

Games like Dear Esther, Everybody Gone to Rapture, What Remains of Edith Finch, are clear showcases of the genre.

A walking simulator typically has no combat and limits gameplay to very basic inter...

I dont even know where to begin with. They acquired so many studios only to release mediocre games with Live Service elements to them, and then they started consolidating their studios by closing down competent ones.

Arkane Austin was forced to make a multiplayer game (just like Lionhead was forced to make a multiplayer Fable game), only to have them close down. That was a truly terrible move as they closed down a revered single player RPG developer studio at a time where ...

Yes you are right. However It seems that the frame rate has been reduced from 60fps to 30fps.

https://www.nintendolife.co...

So in effect, we are

i) paying more for 20 year old game (60$/euros) than its original release
ii) which is a remaster (not a remake)
iii) and with half the frame rate ...

ok here is a reality check. Tech companies have been firing thousands of employees the last couple of years.

I find it odd that the percentage of employees sacked from MS

QUOTE
"Microsoft announced approximately 1,900 job cuts across its gaming division, including Activision Blizzard, ZeniMax, and Xbox. 8.6% of its colossal 22,000-strong global workforce. "

is worth writing an article condemning the company, when So...

@NotoriousWhiz its only logical though. The versions launching carry over all updates and enhancements that the games received over the years.

This is similar to waiting to buy the ultimate or game of the year edition which includes all DLC, patches, updates and some cosmetics or extras.

But yes, upon launch, Sea of Thieves was truly barebones which was rather strange given its long development cycle and budget (I suspect it was on purpose to start addin...

One thing that pleasantly surprised me, was the Switch port, as back then it was my only console. The graphics were amazing and the artistic design helped a lot to enhance the visuals.I took some really impressive screen shots while playing which I still revisit them from time to time to remind me what a capable developer (QLOC) can achieve with weaker hardware.

First game was ok I guess. Had some weird moments with the mannequins (a mechanic which has been overused by soooo many horror games lately) but the atmosphere was decent and the Switch port was quite good, if a bit dark.

That is a weird way of saying that Phil Spencer is directing Xbox to obscurity.

I can already picture the marketing material for next xbox console.

"Xbox Gen Z combatible console now available"

In my opinion, the issue here is that Phil seems to have no thesis, only ever swifting strategies and narratives instead.

They delivered a next gen console with no exclusives and the draught carried over for 2 years. When they actually released games, many of them were mediocre or below expectations (Refall and Starfield come to mind although I confess having great fun as solo player in Redfall with Jacob).

We were then told that games are coming because ...

I still cant believe that they released Goldeneye on Switch with such horrible control scheme.

Talk about a wasted opportunity.

I really want this but I found it that it was already released on Steam in the past with solid sales on top of it so I am getting in on Steam Deck.

Switch graphics this time do not look good at all

It seems that this is not a good port.

I really do like these smaller warhammer 40k games like Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, ...

@DeusFever
Iphone 15 pro run appears to use a dynamic resolution in Death Stranding and it seems to average around 400p in typical play (with frame rate issues on top of it) according to Digital Foundry whereas PS4 run at 1080p.

We have to be realistic given the requirements Nintendo usually considers when deploying a new console the last few years.

It must be power efficient and small in form factor in addition to being hybrid (therefore lowered specs in comparison with other consoles). This means that it will not become as hot when playing as say the Steam Deck.

It must be relatively cheap (not in the 500$ price range but lower)

It must be backwards compatibl...

Well said maniacmayhem. It is evident that many companies overextend, only to find out that the market does not support such endeavours to the detriment of employees.

@ariv88: welcome newly created troll sony account. Please pay your respect to Sony overlords or the cheque will not be reach you on time.

This is an industry wide issue. The employees are the ones that suffer and there is no room for company fanboys like you at this time.

If Obsidian does not update Xbox version to run at 120fps, we will both have our answer I guess.
