I had a marketing email from hmv.co.uk a few hours ago, offering GT5 pre-order bonus, stating release date as 1st December.
retailers are all saying different, ignore until something official is announced
Also, they edited the mag to say about the review delay etc, so they would have edited the ad space?

I don't think people are saying it won't sell well, I think with such a massive marketing budget it can only sell well - it's what happens after those sales.
Not that it matters to msft, they can boast about 10 millions sales regardless of whether people still play it or not.

I think people underestimate the impact of 3D
3D Tv's are cheaper than I thought they would be, with 40inch + 3 sets of glasses going for the likes of £800, that's over a thousand cheaper than I paid for my LCD a few years back
Also, with SKY heavily backing their 3D campaign, consumers might not buy a 3D tv for ps3, but if they buy it for SKY then it just means they have 1 more reason to buy a PS3, to enjoy not only games, but 3D blu-rays

hence PS3 being the 3rd fastest console of all time, and yet all we ever heard in the early days was that it was doomed and the end of sony's gaming effort etc etc

I got this the other day, the hardware is Sony solid as usual, 100% precise.
standout games imo, sports champions, tumble ans the shoot - all great fun and solid
I think Sony are right on the word of mouth sells thing, 2 lots of people have been and tried it out with me, both of which are now going to buy it, its just solid, fun, accurate and reasonabluy priced at entry point
Even if the sales meet the 360's it's already beat it, as it was released so much later. It needs to be compared by time on the market, not total sales from the point the 1st current gen console launched
I'm due a new TV next year anyhow, so I'll be joining in the 3D fun for sure - especially as they cost about the same as my LCD did a few years ago
By no means is it ideal, but I would think Sony will patch it at a later date.
It's still pretty amazing that they can give this as a FREE update to existing consoles, that's a whole lot of machine the PS3 is packing these days
Maybe it is just to do with Top Gear content that is featured in GT5?
Did anyone expect massive queues at midnight? it's not that type of product I don't think. Surprised they even held midnight launches - less surprised that kotaku highlighted the low turnout

9/10 is good, not to take anything away from this game but if they think that THIS has a lot of content then GT5.....
I have previously watched a demo in a SKY pod, and today I tried it out at a store. I was amazed, it really is good and tried stardust HD, whilst it was subtle and not as amazing as the movie demo, still very good and better than I thought
forgot the glasses were there after a few second, so no issue for me - don't see how it can any worse than getting use to wearing a headset (other than these are for your eyes!)

See I just text/phone to arrange games etc, but I guess this feature just makes it easier to do in one place
I think 360 sales will stay good, and maybe increase, but due to kinect and family purchases, whereas I think ps3 will benefit from sales from core and dedicated gamers, you just need to look at 2010 games, and whats coming in 2011
ps3 has had a great year, and has some real heavy hitters coming in 2011
